So so disappointing. We have stayed and eaten at The Punt Hotel previously and thought it would be nice to go back to somewhere we knew. So wrong and very disappointed. The service we received was less than mediocre. We were basically told by the barmaid that we were holding up the queue and not interested (there were two people behind us) because I asked about ingredients due to a severe allergy. When our fish and chips came out they had been precooked and reheated - my partner was previously a chef so knows what he is talking about. Also the salad was old - the lettuce was going brown and the only slightly edible parts were the tomato and cucumber. We even had diarrhea the next morning. Our previous meals and service (March 2024) here have been great but this was over charged second rate service and third rate food. It wasn't until afterwards that I thought I should have taken a photo of the meal. Credit to the young blonde kitchen hand (about 17 yo) ....he was incredibly polite and provided exceptional customer service. We live in a regional area and understand the difficulties but not even this service would be acceptable where we are from. Never again!! Sorry Punt Hotel but you are not like...

I've had many a good night in the Punt. Thursday night is an absolute rip snorter of a night. There is the pool comp which is quite good fun and certainly brings out a fair few of the local sharks, and a jukebox in the corner with a top selection of tunes that belts out all evening. Make sure that you flick a few coins in. I guarantee you'll have a real good time. During the weekends it's a really laid back establishment and its nice to just sit at the bar, have a quiet beer and also have a yarn with any local that happens to stroll on in through the door. The meals are pretty good, with a top selection available. The bar is always well stocked, whether it be a broad selection of beers your after. Or maybe a particular spirit. You'll always find something happening at the Punt. It can be very lively at times for...

The rooms were very poor for the price. The bed was just rediculous. The bathroom is disgusting. It’s a shared bathroom that’s mouldy and everything was broken and smelt horrible. Was full of every persons towel and hairy soaps. They don’t provide floor towels either so have to shower with thongs on as dirt and hair everywhere. When asked for milk for a cup of tea had no intention of helping when they are meant to provide it. Over all were quite rude and did not care about their customers. The only decent thing there is the food. Very disgusted and disappointed. Would not stay...

This is a great little town to stop over on a trip - or make it a destination in itself. At different times, I have stayed in my caravan at both the Caravan Park and at the Punt Hotel. Bruce, the pub owner, is friendly and welcoming, and gave me plenty of tips for day trips in the area. At the rear of the hotel he has set up a fabulous camping area for RVs, it has better camping than many paid parks I have been to. The food at the pub is excellent and the managers and locals are very friendly too.

Loved our overnight stay here! Fabulous spot by the river - we all had a refreshing swim before dinner. The food was scrumptious - scotch fillet medium rare, cooked to perfection and delicious chicken parmie. The wine list could do with expansion. Very few wines by the glass and Jacob's Creek not up to the standard of the food. Thanks for being so kind with our old dog ❤️🐶

We were happy to stay here in our van overnight and have the roast of the day for our Sunday lunch. The Hotel has gone out of its way to make a purpose built area for caravans and motor homes. We availed ourselves of the toilet and shower facilities for $5 each. The Hotel has been established 100 years. See photos of 1925 and 2025 attached.
