We were here early May 2025. Their pies and sausage rolls are bloody delicious, and the cake ingredients are spot on. They also sell fresh eggs. There were quite a few caravans and truckies pulled up here. They have 2 girls serving. Next door is a local selling fruit and vegetables. The locals sitting outside eating their goodie’s, were happy to have a chat. Other bakeries I recommend are Gulgong bakery, about an hour west from Mudgee. On the east coast of QLD, Gin Gin bakery and Far North QLD, Babinda bakery. And The Ceda Bake house at Taranganba near Yeppoon. And Mace’s hot bread at Miles, on the Warrego Hwy. And Jackson Bakery and Cafe at Harden, on Burley Griffin Way NSW. Coonabarabran Bakery on the Newell Hwy. and at Armidale for a beautiful crepes, I recommend The Corner Creperie on the corner of Taylor and Rusden streets Armidale. In a quiet back street. Jed’s Bakery Woolgoolga Mid North Coast NSW. And Riptide pizzeria in Woolgoolga Mid North Coast NSW. For lunch and dinner. And highly recommend Woolgoolga RSL for lunch and dinner. And definitely worth a visit to Dorrigo Wood Fired Bakery, in the high lands of the Mid North...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, we bought a steak and mushroom pie and a pepper steak pie. Wow. So glad we did. The women serving us were so friendly with a good sense of humour. After traveling around OZ for over 3 years, we have had our share of pies on recommendations which makes us wonder why people rave about a pie we would find rather dull. As far as we're concerned, if it is not chunky pieces, it is not a pie. Forget the mushy, runny mince pies. Blerk. Well, these pies have made it into our TOP FOUR, coming in at number two. They were both filled with tender, chunky meat, a great gravy, and the pastry was light and cooked just right. The mushrooms were real field mushrooms, not tasteless champignon mushrooms, and the pepper was cooked into the meat and gravy, not sprinkled on like so many others. I am glad this place is so far from where we live. I'd gain too much weight. Can't wait to drive back...
Read moreHubby had the mushroom pie - filled with heaps of lovely tasty mushrooms, big tasty chunky steak, and gravy. I had a pepper pie now that was a pepper pie - lots of chunks steak lovely gravy, and the pepper was spread out through the pie . In both pies, the steak melted in your mouth. We stopped on the way to Glen Innes and tried them, and on our way back home, we had to stop and have again. Also, we grabbed a sausage roll and apple turnover both great. Coffee is enjoyable. We would rate these pies way better than the Fernvale Bakery in Qld. Well done, Khai , family, and staff. Will definitely be calling in next time down this way It's definitely a must stop for pies and...
