Superb food, drinks, and service!

You hear pub meal and think "oh so standard affair". You come in, order, and the food looks really nicely presented. Then you take a bite, and the flavour blows you away. It's so good that you slow down to appreciate it and still end up full. The food is tied for #1 reason to visit.

The drinks are tied for number #1. Specialising in wines, beers, and whiskeys. Hearing craft beer you assume "capital brewing co" nope! You can find new and interesting craft beers ON TAP and try 4 of them on a beer tasting paddle.

The service was great, excellent staff that trust in the quality of the food and drinks delivered so they can focus on service.

Atmosphere in the warm summer afternoon with the sun setting was nithibg short of delightful with the combined food, drinks, and service.

I strongly recommend for anyone, whether you're a connoisseur looking for something new, or looking for an old time favourite with a delishious addition.

My daughter celebrated her 40th birthday on the 4 Nov 2003 at Herbert's. Deano the owner of the Pub provided her with the best service for the night. The food were platters of different meats and vegetables with a variety of flavoursome sauces and spices as well as being in abundance. His staff were happy, friendly and hard-working throughout the night which added to the pleasing outcome for the party. My daughter was able to decorate the pub and hire a small 2 person band to dance to. The Pub is small but there was plenty of room for all and plenty of space to dance easily. Deano was so oblighing all night and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Deano. I have also had dinner at Herberts Evatt on several occasions and the food and atmosphere have always been the best. Hugely disappointed. I heard good things from other coeliacs but when we ordered tonight we hugely disappointed. Nearly $80 for three main meals, as per the takeaway menu on the website. A Gluten Free Chicken Schnitzel- advertised on their website as coming with chips (and indeed, I specifically requested the GF Schnitzel and Chips) but I just got some gravy and a small serve of pretty plain coleslaw. The schnitzel itself was kind of disappointing, weakly flavoured and dry even with the gravy. The other meals we ordered were very small servings for what we paid and not worth it vs going across the road. They weren't even gluten free to warrant the cost.
