If one was to summarise a complete dining experience to be 70% food (taste, presentation, authenticity of flavours, portion sizes etc.) and 30% place (decor, warmth and attitude of staff, facilities) then Bambusa is DEFINITELY hits the 100% mark. My family and I showed up there on a very busy Saturday night after being turned away from literally every other joint in the neighbourhood. Despite being at full capacity, Bambusa not only accommodated us, but made sure that we had a wonderful dining experience. Thank you so much for that, Bambusa. We had the sweet corn soup, chicken dumplings and chowmein - couldn't fault a things and ate every last morsel of. Will definitely visit again.

Food was fresh, not greasy, and worthy of a much more fancy restaurant. I would recommend it. The best Chinese I've had in Canberra. Not expensive, average prices. The service staff are attentive and polite - even when the place is busy. Food comes out in a timely manner, but they definitely do not rush to get it to you. They do ensure that your meal plan goes as requested. I.e. certain wine comes out with the mains. My wife and I were very impressed and we will be back. Pictured below (left to right): deep fried duck with a plum sauce, mixed dumplings, sweet and sour pork.

Have been coming here very often at least a few times per year for a few years now and this place does not disappoint. The owner is very switched on and is lovely to deal with and so are the staff who are employed there. Service is great and wait times are not long even when busy. Food is wonderful every time and we always leave satisfied. Will continue to come to Bambusa for years to come! Thank you all for making dining out a wonderful experience.

It was Mother’s Day and we booked the private room. When arriving the restaurant gives you that sense of calmness because of the low light and deco. However, when we got seated in our table, everything went down heel. We waited an hour for our food since ordering and when we got the food, it’s average and the tasteless. I don’t think it’s worth going to this place. The staff are rude and one of the staff who worked at the bar was rude to my daughter and told her off for not sitting properly on her seat. He didn’t ask her nicely to sit on her seat but told her off. She is a 7 year old child and he made her uncomfortable. I don’t believe that we would want to pay for a service if you’re making a child uncomfortable. If you have a problem with a child, speak to the parents and they will deal with the situation. I don’t recommend anyone going to this restaurant based on our experience. I believe everyone should feel comfortable and enjoy the food and company. We booked the private room and it was so noisy because it was near the kitchen and there was no privacy because everyone was walking back and forth looking...

Bambusa Manuka: A Tranquil Culinary Haven

Nestled in the heart of Manuka, Bambusa offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, accompanied by an exquisite dining experience. As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm ambiance, with soft lighting and minimalist decor creating an inviting atmosphere.

The menu is extensive and tasty and the staff know how to deal with you, whether playful or formal.

The attentive staff at Bambusa added to the overall experience, offering recommendations and ensuring that every need was met promptly. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences was commendable.

Overall, Bambusa Manuka exceeded my expectations with its impeccable cuisine, tranquil ambiance, and exceptional service. Whether for a romantic dinner or a casual outing with friends, this hidden gem promises an unforgettable...

It was a last minute decision on Saturday evening - we rang and got a table. What a great choice. The service was friendly and efficient and the food outstanding. We had our favorite Asian mains including crispy fried chicken with ginger and shallot sauce and Mongolian lamb. We also had a selection of dumplings and pork buns for entree. The food was fantastic. The place was busy, but the vibe felt friendly, relaxed and happy. The environment was clean and luxe but there were people eating Al fresco in a more casual section of the place. There was plenty of staff - they were efficient friendly and hard working. On the whole - how lucky is Canberra to have this great restaurant. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for a great night out or to have take away. We will definitely be returning customers- this...
