I wasn't greeted at the door by staff and left disorientated even after approaching a server. A few years ago staff would find you a table and ask for you to order at the counter. It seems that process has changed but the servers aren't trained on formalities of it. Some servers find tables for the patrons and some don't. Ordering is now taken by servers instead of register. It took a while for table water to be provided and a menu had to be asked for. Some chairs was tucked in on table clearing but some weren't. The server had immensely horrible bodor odour and hardly spoke at all.
Sitting outside the air was fresh but the odor still lingered. I ordered an iced almond latte and eggs benny with smoked pulled pork. The drinks and food arrived very timely and was plated nicely. The almond milk was splitting and had chunks but from experience I believe that to be the fault of the particular brand they're using, otherwise it was quite well made. The eggs benny came present on a bagel, which was slightly soggy due to the blanched Spinach on top of it. A fresh ingredient would have worked better here. The pulled work was moist and flavourful and the hollandaise had a nice tang to it. One poached egg was cooked beautifully and runny however the other poached egg had a hard yolk. A runny poached egg is a staple for Eggs Benedict and it was rather easy to tell this was overcooked without needing to slice through it.
It's unfortunate that the quality standard of EQ dropped this time round as a I recall having a good experience and faultless food many years ago. For a premium location and well fitted establishment I expected to have a good meal at a higher than average price. Overall the food was ok but bad body odour is a definite deterrent for...
Read moreBitterly disappointed. Regularly I would go to EQ on a Saturday to order coffees for patients at a nearby medical clinic. It was a special treat for my wife and other patients as they aren't able to go because of their condition.
I would usually take all the orders in the ward and walk the very short distance to the cafe to place the order. The patients each took turns paying for all the coffees on a given Saturday. The baristas are friendly and make wonderful coffee, I'd order on average six coffees and banana bread, walk them back and hand out the coffees.
Because of the amazing circumstance of receiving a transplant today, my wife will no longer be attending the medical clinic so I thought I'd order the coffees one last time and have them delivered the short distance, one last time.
I rang today and was told that it was not possible, I could hear on the line that the manager wasn't even remotely considering making this happen whilst talking to the staff member who answered my call. I was told there aren't enough staff around to deliver the coffees. There's been many times that I've gone in on a Saturday and there have been staff standing around waiting for orders. I was only wanting to make this delivery order once. There wasn't an option to deliver on uber eats and no suggestion was made that an order could be made on Menulog, although it's such a short distance that it wouldn't be fair to the delivery driver.
Previously I had asked multiple times before if they had a loyalty card, begrudgingly last time I was told there is an app. upon checking the app I realised that the 11th coffee purchased is free. This would mean some of these patients would've saved money ordering...
Read moreWouldn’t usually leave a review but the service today was so poor. The cafe was pretty quiet when I came to meet my Mum who had already been there sitting for 10 minutes prior and she had not been approached by any of the staff for water or for her order etc. Two staff members saw me sit down with her and we still were not served by anybody perhaps for another 5 mins or so which consisted of us sitting there staring and waiting for the waiters. What was most appalling is that my mum signalled at one of the waiters twice who looked directly at her and walked away to serve other people, clearing one table and taking orders from another table who arrived after us. I signalled for one of the waiters who finally came over and said that they thought we had ordered because there was a number in our pot plant. I fully understand the confusion on that front but two waiters saw us sit down and my mum politely signalled for a waiter twice and was blatantly ignored. There needs to be checks to clear any confusion if waiters have previously left the table number there, it should be pretty obvious when a customer looks like they haven’t ordered. The cherry on top is that the way the situation was handled by the waiter who took our order was not considerate at all and this needs to be better to mediate situations like this so that customers understand the mistake has been recognised and...
