Sadly we had a very bad experience with Siam Twist recently and can't bring ourselves to ever go back. Turns out that the customer is always wrong at Siam Twist :(
Thankfully Wilburs next door still give good service. Apparently Wilburs are not openly rude to their customers.
We have been going to Siam Twist for some years, the food has generally been quite good and the staff are always friendly — except for the manager. He has recently been very rude and unresponsive.
We had an experience ordering meals for 4 people via Ubereats, who called but did not knock on our front door... my wife could not call the number back and so politely called Siam Twist for assistance in contacting Ubereats to get our food.
All she wanted was some assistance (eg. a phone number), but instead was berated by the ranting manager and told how much of an inconveinience she was being... the call went on for a very long time without the caller saying much. It was like listening to a naughty primary school student being told off by the headmaster. We never got our food.
Having supported the business for some years, I thought I'd go down there to talk to the owner (Andrew) about the issue, to see if we could remedy things (for the sake of his business, there are many Thai restaurants in the area) — I ended up leaving a detailed message in his absence and my contact details, and was assured the manager would contact me ASAP — the manager has not been in contact and so we can no longer give Siam Twist our business, nor can recommend this place to our many friends in the area and abroad.
This could have been easily resolved if the manager had tried to be helpful in the first place, rather than lecturing the customer. This could have been sorted out if the manager was receptive to me reaching out... but alas this is not the case. Such a shame!

Read moreI recently visited Siam Twist and had an extremely disappointing experience. The owner's behaviour towards both customers and staff was completely unacceptable.
From the moment I entered, the owner acted strangely and made it clear that he had little understanding of coffee. He even mentioned not wanting customers to provide too many instructions for their coffee orders, which is surprising and furthermore, it is disheartening to witness the owner blaming every customer and responding with hostility. This behaviour creates an unwelcoming environment and indicates a lack of professionalism. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of any issues that may arise
During my visit, the owner's behaviour escalated when I received the wrong size of coffee after paying for a large one. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, he tried to shift the blame onto me, claiming that I should be grateful.
I believe it's important for businesses to provide a welcoming and customer-focused environment, and unfortunately, Siam Twist falls short in this regard. I would strongly caution anyone considering a visit to this establishment.
Note to the Owner:
If you are unable to handle criticism and provide proper customer service, perhaps it's time to reconsider and the low rating of this establishment is a...
Read moreI would just like to begin by saying that this rating is on the basis of service as opposed to food quality.
The owner (also predominant serving staff), showed extremely sexist tendencies in a very casual manner that severely harmed the overall dining experience. He began by only addressing my dad and calling him 'Sir', while utterly disregarding the rest of us (my mum, adult brother and myself). He was plain condescending when it came to ordering, as I wanted to inquire about something I was unsure about. He cut me off and opened with "OKAY LET ME EXPLAIN HOW IT WORKS", in a big announcement. When it came to serving the rice, he gave me 1 scoop, my mum about 1.5, and in contrast my brother and dad around 3 each.
Post-dinner, I spoke to a friend of mine who used to work there. I recalled her quitting under unpleasant circumstances, but I couldn't recall the specific reason. As it turns out the owner refused to teach her how to use the coffee machine because she's a female. Other things were shared but I do not want to be unnecessarily defamatory.
I reiterate that the food was nice, I had the red curry. However honestly it was just a bewildering experience and I will never go...
