EDIT Unfortunately Little Theo's has dropped the ball. Every order the last 10+ times have all had mistakes. Soggy dim Sims when asked for well done, same with spring rolls (cold in the middle). Charred pizza beyond enjoyment. Burgers now packed in boxes allowing the burgers to slide apart while in transit, and go cold faster than the original paper wrapping. The biggest killer is the obvious lack of enthusiasm from the staff when th owner isn't in the shop. The amount of times you watch them place food in the front of the counter and not call out the name on the order, then when you ask if that's your order, they either look completely disinterested or apologize. Why apologize for something that you just continue to do and not improve on? We have mentioned this to the owner before and have been given replacement food, which is given to us at the same standard we were unhappy with, and we observe no further improvement. The reputation is decreasing as more realise the drop in quality. It's sad when "good enough" becomes the standard. I really hope this shop will pick up the passion again one day and I can reverse this review and get back to ordering every week. That day is not today. OLD The best Pizza/Burger/Fish and Chip shop in Canberra hands down! Anthony has given this store a fresh twist, everything produced is great quality and will make...
Read moreLet's start at the beginning, rang early so could beat the rush - 45 min wait at 4pm is OK, right? Get to the store about 4.40pm to a young girl wearing gloves, while texting on her phone at the till - "you right mate?" over the phone. "we haven't started that order yet, you'll have to wait.." Patiently standing out side, I have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke from young gentlemen, sat by the door, who is waiting to go for a drive with his mate from inside the store, a couple of ciggys later they leave, then shortly come back.. and light up again. I walk back in side the store about 5pm and ask if the order is ready, its been sitting in the warmer for who knows how long - no worries, just glad to get it and head home..
Now the food - best potato scallops? Hardly. Good portion size and that's where it ends. Potato was raw and batter wasn't cooked. Calamari rings - same. Fish for the kids? fine.
Finally the pizza - The Gamberino; we had visions of greatness, sadly the 3 prawns and frozen zucchini just didn't cut it. El Supremo - was good. Tasty and had a decent amount of topping.
Little Theo must have had...
Read moreCold Steak sandwich, with half a bottle of tomatoe sauce on it. Did the lid fall off? Inedible and a waste of $12. Gave it to my cats and they wouldn’t touch it.
Sooooo disappointing. The Carpark was very full, but that must be for the dance studio and the other cafe, as there was only 2 or 3 other customers inside Little Theo’s.
I still can’t get my head around how toasted bread can be soo cold. Maybe they toast all the bread in the morning and put it in the fridge to keep ‘fresh’. Maybe they keep the tomatoe sauce in the fridge too. They must spend a fortune on tomatoe sauce. Maybe they use a ladle to put on. Or maybe they keep their shredded lettuce in tomatoe sauce to keep that fresh, and then put it in the fridge next to the toasted bread. I’m still baffled.
And ‘Bumnut’? Do they not want people to order eggs so they call them that?
Unforgettable experience, I definitely recommend this place if you like your steak sandwich chilled and an abundance tomatoe sauce (also...
