I've made two visits to this restaurant in the past two weeks, and both have been subpar in various areas. On my first visit, the food (vegetable toastie) was quite good, however on the second visit the scrambled eggs were rubbery and tasteless. Normally I would wait for a "best of three" on the food, before writing a first review of a establishment, but unfortunately the service standard on both visits was poor, so best of three has been achieved. Watching the wait staff carry out their duties at this "we'll take your orders at the table" establishment was interesting. There are those who are efficient and competent, and then there are those who seem to do as little as possible, and whose minds are far away. Unfortunately, we seem to have scored the latter category on both visits. Examples include, having to stand and wave at the staff in order to have them attend our outdoor table, no cutlery provided with meals (and when the cutlery was eventually provided, the utensils were passed to us by the staff-member holding the "eating-end" in their ungloved hand!!), coffee spilt into saucer when placed onto table, with no offer to fix it, or provide a dry saucer (let alone replacing the lost coffee), and on the most recent visit, drink orders completely forgotten. I understand that many juniors use these employment opportunities to get into the workplace, and that some adults are searching for new skills, however those employing such people need to keep in mind the damage such laxness and inattention to simple details can have on their businesses. I might consider giving this business one more chance as they are one of the few outdoor coffee shops in the high-rise area down this end of Tuggeranong, but if I do, it will be quite a while...
Read moreI really, really want to like this cafe. I've been here before but have been so disappointed by the poor service and the weirdly sticky tables.
However, the food can be great and it's in such a good spot. It's so lovely looking out at the Lake and I really like the light, 'industrial chic' interior.
Today, my friend and I decided to give it one last chance.
We walked in and obediently stood at the sign that said 'wait here to be seated'. The waitress saw us and just ignored us while we stood there.
A couple of minutes later she came over. She said we could sit anywhere. And so we did. Then we waited for menus. And waited. And waited. And waited.
I could have got up and asked for menus and water. But I wanted to see what happened.
We waited 15 minutes. It was 11.45 and not too busy. We just couldn't understand it.
One waitress was one her phone. A couple of other wait staff were chatting to each other.
We got up to leave and the staff didn't even notice us leaving!
We went to the cafe on the corner. They greeted us as soon as we walked in, brought menus and water immediately. The food was reasonable and arrived quickly.
Again, I really, really want to love Two Before Ten in Greenway.
On the plus side, the tables don't seem to be...
Read moreWe decided to give this place a second go. We moved in close to here last year and during covid19 they were doing takeaway only the first time was fine they went outside and called our order so we expected them to do it the next time but they called out from I'm the shop and with lots of people waiting we didn't hear the call by the time we asked our food and coffee was cold. No apologies or offer to reheat the food. So we decided not to go back. After months of walking past and seeing it packed we decided to give it another go. The menu was great. The service was very good. Great coffee they asked for our coffee order before we read the menu. I wish I had read the menu first as they had a fantastic range and I would have chosen something else. The food was very good except for the toast it was way to thick and could not be cut and it was suggy. So 2 good vistis and 1 bad. We will definitely give...
