On our first night in Dubbo, we had our dinner here. It is conveniently located at the same premise as our accommodation.
We did not make any bookings, and were lucky enough to get seated. However, booking is a must as the place has limited seating.
SERVICE Staff were great, they were accommodating and also attentive.
AMBIANCE The fireplace was such a nice touch. It was good that it was on as the nights were cold.
FOOD On the night we had arrincini balls with blue cheese sauce, steak, ribs and apple crumble. There's no BYO alcohol, but they do have a nice selection of drinks in their menu.
• Arincini Balls - Couldn't taste the blue cheese for the Arincini, which was a bit of a let down. But the rest of our meal was delicious!
• American Ribs - juicy and fell off the bones. The sauce was not over powering. It was very enjoyable.
• Eye Fillet Steak - soft and cooked perfectly. It was served with roasted veggies. I think the carrots were glazed with maple syrup, it was quite interesting.
• Apple Crumble - is not the average Apple crumble that you have in mind. This was like a deconstructed version. It was so good, I don't know how else to discribe it. ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
If we had more time in Dubbo and if it weren't for public holiday, I think we'd have dined here more than once while we were there.
It was a nice...
Read moreI went there for a friends 21st birthday, her family booked out a function room, we had 3 possible extras only one showed, they charged for all three, charged for a cake service ($150), the cake that was brought in by the family cut and served by the family and cleans up after BY THE FAMILY, during the evening there had been a non-alcoholic drinks tab available for us at the bar, they told us during the night that the $250 on the tab was used, when they paid the bill only 140$ had been used so people had been paying for drinks that should have been covered. The staff when asked about it were pushy and abrasive and claimed that they couldn’t give her Mum a refund on the UNUSED tab and for the cake service we didn’t get, the staff claimed that the reason that they wouldn’t give a refund is because that’s how the ‘food industry is’. I am absolutely appalled at the unprofessional behaviour of the staff and the money grabbing that soured out a very special occasion...
Read moreMy family and I ate here as an end of the week treat. The service was good, atmosphere very cramped and close to other tables, loud overlapping chatter. The food was the most disappointing element of our experience at reflections restaurant. My children ordered the pork, it was undercooked and full of fat, crackle was chewy and unseasoned. I ordered the beef cheeks and gnocchi, the beef was a stale gelatinous mess resembling the taste of tinned braised steak and onions and gnocchi was not fresh and was undercooked dough. My partner ordered the lamb rack, it was full of thyme it overpowered all other flavours of the dish it could only be eaten when swimming in sauce to attempt to mask the taste. I am usually grateful and thankful for a family meal but in this case I just have to warn others that may have their hopes up for booking a table here and being let down. The 1 star is for the bruschetta & the chilli garlic prawn pasta… oh...
