Hey everyone!
I just have to share my delightful discovery at the Dunolly Bakery – it’s been a hidden gem right under my nose for almost a year, and boy, am I glad I finally stepped in!
As soon as I walked through the door, a cheerful “Welcome To Dunolly Bakery” sign greeted me. And let me tell you, the warm welcome didn’t stop there. The barista’s friendly smile was just the start of a very pleasant experience.
The display was a feast for the eyes – pies, slices, muffins, biscuits, and other mouth-watering goodies were laid out, each one looking more tempting than the last. I eventually decided on a comforting mug of coffee and a scrumptious coffee and walnut muffin.
While I savoured my delicious brew, served by the ever-jovial Malcolm (or Mal, as everyone calls him), I took in the cosy ambience. Soft background music played, and the setting was both charming and practical.
A thoughtful ramp with hand railings led up to the main seating area, where natural wooden tables and chairs beautifully complemented the polished floorboards. The place was spotless, and I could even see into what seemed to be the kitchen area from the counter. High ceilings added a spacious feel, and the current local paper was conveniently placed on the window ledge next to me.
Even on a chilly day, Dunolly Bakery was bustling, and it was warm and inviting inside. They had a TV in one corner and a table stocked with cutlery and other necessities on the other side, ensuring everything you might need was within easy reach.
But here’s the highlight of my visit – while I was enjoying my muffin and coffee, Mal suddenly burst into a spontaneous song about a customer named Jennifer with green eyes. It was absolutely charming and gave me a good chuckle.
I left Dunolly Bakery with a smile, thinking, “Yes, I’ll definitely be back.” The great atmosphere, excellent service, and lovely space make it a true local treasure. Kudos to the team – we need more businesses like this in our community.
And I hope the owners won’t mind if I encourage other local entrepreneurs to visit and pick up some tips on creating such a successful and welcoming spot.
Well done, Dunolly Bakery! Can’t wait for...

Read moreId give 5 stars as the baked goods are lovely. Yep, buy a pie, pastie or sausage roll. They are great. Yep buy the cake things in the glass display things. They are great too. But avoid the bread and rolls behind the service counter open to the air. They are too open, no cover! The few times iv been in, twice I saw flies crawling over the bread and rolls! They are completely uncovered. Not to mention people coming in that may have covid! This day and age bakery goods should be covered....
