Always a pleasure to stop in to the Hagen Arms for a meal. The customer service is always top notch. Friendly welcoming staff really do make a difference 👌 The menu is relatively small but offers something for everyone. The food is leagues above standard pub grub. Everything is a bit special and fancy. Portions are generous and filling. The sourdough is delicious too. Well priced and a beautiful building. I'm not a local. I live about 75kms away but always enjoy stopping in if we're passing by. Highly recommend 👍

Did not have the best experience tonight. Not only was it uncomfortable for me to express my allergen requirement but they were unaccommodating giving me extra salad and no other side option then the drink i had asked for was wrong didn't know till I got back to my air bnb had takeaway then the price......more than in the city. The only thing great was the young lady serving she was great, will never go back, and will let others know of better options.

One of the absolute gems in the Adelaide Hills. Definitely worth a visit after a day out. The fireplace cracks along in winter and there's a great selection of local wines. The chicken parmi was superb! I'll be coming back again soon!

My wife and myself decided we wanted to eat local for a night out after moving into the area within the last 1 months, we chose the Hagen Arms Hotel less than 8 mins away.||We had booked as it was a Friday night and I am aware it can get busy. We were greeted on entry by a busy barman and shown to our assigned table, very friendly approach and quickly arrange menu's and water and left us to choose other drinks, no pressure. ||Very soon after we ordered wine and the starters a prawn bun and pork bun arrived pretty swiftly, delicious and served with a smile and chat. The mains arrived My wife had the Gnocchi and I had a beef strap, cooked excellent. ||We both enjoy the fact that the meals seemed to be perfectly portioned and allowed us to enjoy a dessert, strange I know but too much food sometimes can overpower the senses :) ||The staff were friendly without being intrusive and pleasant banter was had, ||The whole atmosphere of the dining area was enjoyable, and a roaring fire was in the hearth creating a warm comfortable experience. The other patrons were relaxed and seemed to be enjoying the evening.||One incident made me smile, I needed the toilet and as I walked into the bar to find them, without asking the barman looked at me and said the back door and up the stairs||This was the first time eating here and it won't e the last, this could become our new local for en evening out. We couldn't stay long but next time may organise to spend a longer time and take some...

Unless the Chefs have changed since we were back in Australia in November, this was the best pub meal we had in our five week trip. My understanding is both that Chefs are fine dining background (me too).

The food that we ate was perfectly cooked and the portions were large, and we actually shared the main course with sides. The wood oven cooked broccolini was a perfect accompaniment to the chicken breast atop a romesco style chunky tomato sauce. In all my years of eating out at restaurants around the world I have never had a chicken breast cooked so perfectly... superb!!

I'm genuinely surprised by some of the comments about the food, maybe it's because Echunga is a little bit more out of the way than some of the areas in the hills...

Well done chefs and I hope you put that chicken permanently...
