RATTLE Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Emerald Beach

We recently visited Rattle Restaurant & Bar in Emerald Beach for a birthday dinner, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. Despite booking on short notice, the staff were incredibly accommodating and ensured we had a great spot, making the evening feel special from the start.

We started with fresh oysters as an entree, which were beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh a perfect way to kick off the meal. From there, we indulged in seared scallops, grilled octopus, and Wagyu steak, each cooked to perfection. The seared scallops had a beautiful caramelisation, the grilled octopus was smoky and tender, and the Wagyu steak was rich, juicy, and full of flavour.

One of the highlights of the night was exploring the cocktail menu. Whether it was a classic Negroni, a tropical Figgy Smalls, or something a little more adventurous, every drink was well-crafted and balanced.

To top it all off, we managed to get the crème brûlée as a takeaway, which was the perfect way to end the night. It was silky smooth with a perfectly crisp caramelised top, just as good as if we had enjoyed it at the restaurant.

The atmosphere was relaxed yet stylish, with ocean views from the outdoor seating that made the night even more special. The friendly and attentive staff made sure everything ran smoothly, creating a fantastic dining experience.

Ok, I wouldn’t normally give such underwhelming review but thanks to my second experience at Rattle on 23rd January. Firstly, the messed out our booking and insisted that there were only booking for two persons under the name of a friend. We told them that it was impossible and suggested that there might be 2 similar names. They did not care and could not be bothered to check. We were left embarrassed and bewildered. It did turn up that there were two bookings under similar names. They did apologise and we accepted as mistakes do happen. Next, they told us it was “steak night” and our orders were taken. Later, the waitress came back twice, first to inform us that they did not have sirloins and then they said none of the steak on the menu were available. They replaced our food with fillets which are most likely not as good a cut as sirloins or rump. We were charged the same price as sirloins.

I found the waiters and waitresses were quite unapproachable.

Due to this experience, I will safely say that I will never return for...

We booked a table for my husband’s birthday as we were meeting family for a week. Russell called to let me know about the seating arrangements and the weather earlier in the day. It didn’t stop us having a fantastic time but we did appreciate the heads up!

We arrived and were seated after being greeted in a friendly manner. Children were accommodated easily and room made for an extra person that showed up, with no quibbles.

Cocktails are fantastic. El Pepino was my choice and it did not disappoint!

We had almost one of everything from the menu I’d say!! Stand outs were the Moreton Bay Bugs and the lamb. Children had pizza and they were also delicious. The squid was also devoured by all including the children who we had to order an extra serve for!!!

Deserts were also good and Hubby said the cheeseboard was outstanding.
