View is awesome the guy who served us was friendly how ever a few things. $16 for an espresso martini that arrived half full and A paper straw cut in half in it. Asked the staff the difference between a seafood basket $31 and a sharing patter $75 - basket was battered and sharing platter just battered fish and everything else fresh. We ordered the platter. We ordered, garlic bread, seafood chowder, seafood platter, burger and chips and kids nuggets which only option for the kids drink was lemonade, not even a juice option. After receiving everything one by one (apparently that’s how we have to receive our meals ) we finally get our platter and my 3 year olds nuggets arriving last, after an hour and a half after we ordered. Every single thing on that platter was thick with yellow batter, the 6 mussels we received 3 were empty and all the size of a 5 cent piece. We took one bite and all we could taste was batter it was disgusting. After asking to speak to the manager, she proceeded to have an out right argument with us and pointed out to everyone else who was having a platter saying they are enjoying it why weren’t we. Had we been told everything was going to be battered we would have got the seafood basket. They refused to give our money back and threaten to call the police. I should have taken note while I was standing in line to order our food the other couple that was spinning out about getting there order wrong and then charging more money. What a disgusting level of professionalism the manager and I’m guessing her husband when they wanted to fight my husband all because we told them there seafood was disgusting. When your serving someone who is from nz and trying to tell us that is how small the mussels are back home please know the legal requirement to obtaining seafood lady because your actually breaking the law. Shellfish should be of 2 -3 centimetres in size when yours were merely 0.8 centimetres yes we measured them! Undersized seafood is a crime so maybe I should have let you call the police on us so we could get them to check the size of your illegal shellfish you are serving up at your establishment. Absolutely would not recommend the seafood platter...
Read moreThe one star is for the one dude who had a disability but was still helpful. My dad booked a table for Mother's Day here for 1PM. I arrived a little late and found my family still waiting in the outside corner for a table.
It was noticeable that we were the only coloured customers and that everyone who was seated were not. It was also noticeable that there were "reserved" tables but my family was not seated and another caucasian family was placed. My mum did not want to ruin her mother's day and decided to sit in the make-shift table of a barrel. The seats they brought out for us to sit in were almost the height of the table. Take note that my dad reserved a few days prior and we were still not seated. My brother was getting annoyed.
At this point we lined up to order and by chance, I saw the list of bookings and pointed out to the attendant my father's name which was not yet crossed out for a booking for 1pm; It was 1:30pm when I did this and only then did she start to clear a better table for my family.
In the line, the caucasian couple before us bought cocktails which they IMMEDIATELY served to them and we had to wait until they finished making their drinks before we could even order. When I reached the front, I tried to order a mocktail for my mum in which the lady responded with "Normally I can, but right now I cannot because we are busy". Ok fine. No mocktail for my mum then, even though you made us wait for you to complete mocktails for two other people before us.
We waited for our food and was not given any glass for the jug of water. I decided to just stand up and SERVE MY FAMILY MYSELF by taking the glasses from their serving trays. When I ran out of water, I again walked to the serving trays and tried to find a new jug but it was empty. When I asked the lady for a jug she simply pointed to the pile of empty jugs I had already sussed out. Her attendant apologised and refilled a jug for me.
The food itself was not too bad but the attendants didn't even know the difference between the rump and the fillet, and mixed up part...
Read moreUnhappy with "happy hour" 10 percent increase on drink prices since last week..?.. I complained, their excuse was inflation 🤬..well I didn't order any wine or food..because they sqiibbled over 50 cents.. and this 50 seat cafe had 4 customers.. 4 front end wait staff.."school kids"..who don't understand the economics of cheap happy hour drinks to attract customers ,so they can clean up on food..
Their first mistake, "price rise" for school holidays was second mistake..not negotiable ..so I walked out and left that cafe to go broke by its own mismanagement.. they really needed to make happy hour, cheap, entertainment was nil..and only 4 customers at 5.30pm when it should have been at least half full.maybe the goods not crash hot?.. I didn't get to spend my $50..and walked home..and I'm their "local" market..their bread and butter..sad..
so I went 50 meters to "Tommy's bar and grill" which already had 60 people..music..and pumping food and wine out.. maybe the Salacia waters cafe needs a new owner, or someone that can manage properly.
Location is great.. service is nil, order at cashier, music was nil, I'm glad to have left and avoid the food..which isn't turning over very fast.
So I've blacklisted this cafe .."again".. previously was 3 year ago..I was kind of hoping for new management and service.. some people just don't learn. I have it 1 ⭐ because there wasn't an...
