My anticipation for a pleasant dining experience at Mercure Gold Coast Resort's Green Dining turned into a series of disappointments. Jess's commendable efforts to address my concerns about an overly alcoholic spritz were overshadowed by subsequent miscommunications and lapses in service. Despite Jess's commitment, my meal was mistakenly removed during my brief absence, and the blame unfairly shifted to my 14-year-old son.
While Joao's attempt to rectify the situation with a takeaway box was appreciated, the confusion persisted when I received salad instead of the lamb shanks I ordered. Simona's oversight at the payment desk, coupled with an unexplained charge for the undrunk spritz, further added to the overall disappointment. Attempts to clarify were met with resistance, and Simona's refusal to provide a timely receipt, labelling me as rude, was unprofessional. Simultaneously stating “is this for your little complaint?” When asking for the names of those involved in my dining experience.
The treatment I received significantly impacted my experience and my sons were present, and Simona’s reluctance to provide staff names contradicts industry norms. The venue's management, led by Joao and Simona, could benefit from additional training. A concerning incident occurred when Jess seemed influenced by Simona, leading to audible conversations and laughter about me. This behaviour was disheartening and fell short of the hotel's expected standards.
I can’t say I would recommend this restaurant based on the simple fact that no accountability was taken for their mistakes and the staff was irresponsible and would shift blame.
Just make sure you don’t leave your table at this restaurant not even to use the bathroom because they will take your food away and blame it on your kids!
Thank you to Natalia who was graceful, professional and showed decorum. I hope management put you in a higher position based off the simple fact you were the only one with conflict resolution training and customer service training. Your co workers could learn a thing or...
