Local Joe Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Wow!! This has to be the worst cafe I have ever experienced!! The coffee is disgusting, literally worse than instant - and I'm not talking about pods. Staff were so overwhelming incompetent!! I dined with 4 people who all received their meals 15 minutes apart, except for mine which they FORGOT ABOUT it arrived 45 after we ordered, which was for white bread, Heinz baked beans, and two eggs! How pathetic. Food was all overcooked- surprising as I would think they want to get it off the hotplate and to the customer.

I asked if they had forgotten about my meal, which they had, and the girl told me "sorry we have just been so busy'. There ware 20 PEOPLE in the cafe. This is unacceptable and shows a complete lack of preperation. I take solace in the knowledge that these operators will not survive. This is a prime example of people thinking that hospitality is easy and they can make it work - they can't!!

So disappointed with this cafe....went in to order some lunch n drink as takeaway...they older lady that served me seemed annoyed that she had to serve me and was not patient when it took me a few seconds to decide what I wanted to drink....told her I was heading in to.do groceries so would call on way out to pick up.....come out and my hot chicken filo and cold smoothie were Sat in the sun at front of store at entrance ( I thought she would have at least put cold drink in fridge till I got there ...I said hmmm drink is separated and all she could say ..was glad your back we close soon...I walked away tried drink and it was warm n yuck ..chucked it away... DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK... ATTITUDE STINKS....obviously don't need the...

I ordered the steak sandwich and a Carmel joe, and my partner ordered an all wrapped up and a hot chocolate. Let me tell you the steak sandwich was the best I’ve ever had juicy meat perfectly toasted bread it was very tasty. As for the Carmel joe probably the best Carmel coffee frapé I’ve ever had in my entire life. My partner was absolutely in love with the hot chocolates and easily convinced me to go back a couple days later to try their white hot chocolate! It was equally mind blowing as the last :) So happy we got to find somewhere like this place on our little holiday. If you’ve got no time for average food and drinks, then come here! We’ll definitely be back again next time we are...
