Local to Russell Island Gem. Food was tasty and sent out in really speedy fashion. Coffee was not great but can’t expect much from places like these. Service was efficient too but no niceties or smiles in sight. A bit turned off by the signage stating no changes or go elsewhere but other than that was a nice experience with live music playing in the background. Would give it a go again if on Russell Island again.

Nice little Cafe close to the ferry terminal. Food was quite good, staff were friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Cafe is just a short walk from the main ferry terminal on Russell Island, adjacent to community center. You can sit and relax with beautiful sweeping views of the bay islands.

Was pleasantly surprised by this cafe. First time on the island, stopped at the first place we saw. Quite a big menu and the prices were very reasonable. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was perfect. Will be coming back for another Alice burger.

This is our second bad experience at this Aunty Alice Cafe. I'm a disability support worker and my client has been traveling to Russell Island for years as part of his community program as he loves Russell Island. Today we arrived at Russell and it has been raining since and there was no dry table for us at the park so we can sit and eat our lunch. We decided to walk up to Aunty Alice Cafe so we can eat. My client also has a special diet and he must bring his own food. As we walked towards Aunty Alice Cafe we decided not to go to the cafe as we have kicked out previously so we decided to sit in the smoking area and eat. As we were about to eat, two ladies from the cafe told us to leave because it's a smoking area. I asked them, "is there any other place for us to sit?" And this is what they said, "you guys can sit at the cafe but you are not allowed to eat your food at the cafe, he can eat his food (my client) but you can't eat. I ask, (why can't I eat my food)? and they said because I'm not a disabled person. Those two women would not give us a chance to pack our bags before they lit their smokes. My client and I were very confused by their actions, attitude, and their behaviors and at some point, I felt they are rude and racist. I understand you don't like people to bring their food and eat at your cafe but instead of buying your food. You have no remorse whatsoever, the rudeness and the behaviors were unforgettable. I hope no one experience what we have experienced in this place. We have been to different cafes and restaurants and we always get a warm welcome from people and sometimes people offer us free food but we can't take it as he's on a special diet. This cafe is not...

So incredibly unimpressed with the awful customer service. Went in at 2.30 when closing was at 3, both women were so unkind and rude saying things like do you want to takeaway or have here, you can only have here if you eat it quickly, rolling eyes and having a short attitude. By the time we got our food (takeaway) it was 2.45, the cafe had 4-5 other customers in it, I asked the lady that gave us the food if it was ok for us to sit at that table until close. She rolled her eyes and threw my food on the table. Considering how well we have been treated at other places on the island like IGA and kebab I was so shocked. The food was fine but the foul attitudes of the women left a bad taste. Will certainly be enjoying my lunch and breakfasts elsewhere for the remainder of my stay and passing on the feedback elsewhere. Also what’s with the aggressive signs saying we might be nice to you depending on your attitude and “don’t ask for any menu changes”. This business needs a reality check that although it’s a small island, there are multiple other options, even a cafe 30 metres away!!

Bad bad service. When we were eating on the lawn outside the lady did come out and ask us to move to a table if we wanted until close which was 5 minutes away, which we declined, we didn’t even care that much about eating in, it was a...

Visited Russell island as a lovely holiday - it is a great place. This Cafe not so much.

Food: while we understand that it is a small island and may not have the facilities or population to support '5 star food', the items we received were mediocre at best while voicing from previous reviews that it was at good standards. We also found it highly inappropriate that while ordering we were informed that 'changes' weren't able to be made. While this is normal for some cafe / food services we were very surprised more by the reaction of staff, as my husband said to me "it was like we asked for their first born".

The attitude of the staff was atrocious towards my husband and other customers while ordering their food. Examples include: being blatantly rude towards customers somewhat of an attitude change once food was paid for unable to explain reasoning or respond appropriately towards queries around food

Most of all while the signage may look "funny and cute" about 'the main landers'. It is actually quite rude and not humorous.

Due to this above review we refused to go back and try this place again. We will also not be recommending this Cafe to any of our family and friends.

I hope this review finds its way to someone who cares about the quality and service this Cafe should...
