Reason for review This is one of the best kept secrets in North Brisbane. It’s a lovely, but small coffee roasting business right in the middle of an industrial area.
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I BEEN? Too many to count in past 7 years since I discovered this gem!
OUR EXPERIENCE We enjoy the various roast and flavours. Always feels like a treat. Has turned us into fussy coffee drinkers!
STAFF Usually ample staff with two skilled baristas.
BEST FEATURES Custom, cold pressed coffee in several flavours. The quality of the milk used (dairy and soy!). Once you have tasted their milk coffees (Dairy or Bonsoy milk) you will realise what a difference barista quality milk makes! Consistent high quality beverages Personable staff that are always friendly and efficient. Fun seated arcade machine for the occasional friendly duel!
TIPS If you like your coffee hot, you’ll have to request extra hot. Coffee roast flavours are always changing based on their current roasting batches. Take away large holds more coffee than large mug option if you prefer a big cuppa. Their coffee is strong. Half strength is a good option if you like medium strength coffee.
LIMITATIONS It’s not a cafe so they have food license limitation so having a snack is not an option. Occasionally simply pastries are served. Not sure if that has continued. Mostly shared table benches which is not a big issue. No tea options, from what I have seen. You can purchase seperate bottles of syrup for your coffee at hope but no syrup options are available when purchasing a freshly made coffee in store. (Which I quite like)
COST $4 - $5 a cup (on average) depending on milk and size.
OFFERS Roasted coffee in bags (retail or wholesale) Coffee speciality equipment Sell coffee machines Offer barista training Small seated area (inside or outside) for drinking their coffee. Palm sugar
ATMOSPHERE Casual, but feel decadent to be surrounded by coffee enthusiasts and their gizmos.
PARKING Parking is the biggest issue. Some short stay parking spots available. Avoid parking in parking spaces that are reserved for other neighbouring businesses.
CLEANLINESS Always clean and presentable. Tables are quickly cleared.
WOULD WE GO THERE AGAIN? Definitely, one of our favourite roasting coffee locations in North Brisbane.

Read moreI’ve only been coming here within the last month and what I will say is that the coffee is consistently good and the prices are reasonable for what you get. That’s why I keep coming back. The downside though is that for the same coffee, I’ve been charged three different prices on different occasions ($5, $7.50, $8.50). This is for a speciality drink. I also find the service average at best. I’ve asked for one of the specialty drinks on numerous occasions where it feels like I’m being such a major inconvenience for ordering it (being out of ingredients/low on ingredients etc). When your name is called it feels like you’re next in line for Centrelink. It feels like you’re getting in the middle of their gossiping session behind the counter. It really doesn’t take much to be friendly.
Again with the inconsistency, the first time I ordered a banana bread latte , it came with banana bread on top. Most other times just as normal with the cold foam and no banana bread (which is still fine, it’s delicious). But most recently no cold foam (and no banana bread). I truly don’t mind which option I get because as I mentioned the coffee is great but just a little consistency would be nice so you know what you’re paying for each time.
It’s a shame that the service is lacking and the product is inconsistent, otherwise my review would be a 5 star. I will still be coming for the great coffee, but just some feedback on...
Read moreMy partner and I decided to try the cookies here at the coffee shop at Sydney Airport sponsored by Clean Skin Coffee. The chocolate chip cookie was dry and unremarkable.
We were put off by the barista/cashier's blunt demeanor. When I paid, I inserted my chip credit card. We perceived her behavior to be annoyed as she questioned why I didn't tap my card.
That confused me because why does it matter how I pay? She presented me with a device that accepted chip insert, card swiping, and card tapping. It accepts all those methods of payment and I'm the one doing the physical act of paying. I don't understand her annoyance toward me paying how I decided to pay.
I responded, "Looks like it accepts chip payments, too."
She chose to finish the paying process for me, pressing buttons on the device and not letting me press anything. I wanted a receipt, but she didn't offer or allow me to press the button to choose that option.
She then said directly that tapping is easier. I just kinda shrugged because both chip and tapping take the same amount of effort. And again, I'm the one making that effort.
We weren't thanked or given any pleasantries as we left. It was an awkward and off-putting experience topped with a dry cookie.
I just don't understand her assumption and annoyance with how I chose...
