Alright, lets do this. Went here with my girlfriend after exploring some beautiful trails at Mt Glorious. We ordered a lemonade, a wine, some buffalo wings and 2 Philly Cheesesteaks. When we went to order our food we were yet to pick a table. There was a few empty tables but for some reason the staff member behind the register decided to send us to a table that was cluttered with dirty dishes. This is fine, not my first time sitting down at a table with some dishes yet to be collected, and this table even though cluttered seemed like a nice choice by staff due to the view. But as time goes by it becomes apparent nobody had any intention of clearing the table, had 1 of the staff bring us out our drinks, leaving all the dirty dishes on the table still, then another came out to tell us our food was delayed. This was about half an hour after being seated. I had to ask him them as they were about to take off if they could take away the dishes, which they finally did. They also said they would bring us some water which never happened. Then another half an hour goes before our entrée turns up. During this hour we got to enjoy the staff constantly walking out with a plate of food saying uhhhhhhhhh then turning to a random table saying did you order this? Which was usually met with another customer saying no, I didn't, I ordered something else. Now I'm not blaming the staff for this, maybe if they were told which table the food was meant to go to then this wouldn't of happened. Just made the place seem very manic and unorganized. The food was terrific, as someone who also smokes meat, the wings were both crunchy and saucy, very nice. The cheesesteak was also made with love and I really enjoyed it. But then my girlfriend leaves a review of our experience here and instead of the owner getting one 1 star review and taking ownership of it. He's now getting two 1 star reviews. As he felt it was appropriate to respond to my girlfriends review suggesting she's the one with a problem. Saying that she is impatient... since when was waiting 1 hour for some wings acceptable? And then saying he's amazed of the lack of kindness of some folks when her review was very deserving. After reading some of the other bad reviews this guy has received and seeing how he responds to them, its clear the owner here is simply a d**d! Rather than saying everyone else is the problem how about figuring out the management issues at your place, I'm not blaming the waiters there at all. When we left today we both felt bad cause we did not have a good experience at all. And I hated thinking ill of this place cause its a family run business from home and I love that. But after this guy leaving such a rude response to my girlfriends review and further reading other responses that he has left on other customers reviews... I decided to leave one of my own.

Seeing how you love responding to reviews, I look forward to what b**t you come up...

We had lunch at Smoky Mountain Hideaway yesterday and were very impressed 👌 the smoked beef tacos were an experience with an amazing fresh salsa 😋 and smoked fries - who would have thought? YUM!

The real highlights for me were the sides - the pickled onion & beef broth that came with the tacos - I had to ask whether they sold them separately as I would have gone home with a jar of each! (they don't sell them yet but are planning to in future, BTW 😉)

The view was outstanding - Mount Glorious lived up to its name 🙌

I would have rated it 5 stars but we didn't have a table reserved as requested (we messaged them to book and it would have made it PERFECT if we had showed up to a reserved table with a better view), but there was no table reserved. No biggie as there was plenty of room and we still really enjoyed the experience- it would have just made it that much more special 😊

We are also love a beer, but are a bit bogan when it comes to our preferred brand of frothy (if it's Great Northern we're not drinking it) 😅, so it would have been cool to have that option. Having said that, the wine was lovely.

Absolutely recommend for a date - beautiful drive and delicious food!

PS - ask for the specials!! There was a specials board there but we didn't notice it until we had already ordered from the menu - looked like some great options so we'll do...

Over promised, but underdelivered on the food. We had good service, and the location was lovely. Unfortunately, this venue is not responsive to food allergy requests. I understand they can't cater to every dietary requirement, but when my girlfriend was more than willing to compromise and simply asked for a burger without the cheese and the bun (gluten intolerant and diary allergy) she was refused. She then suggested that was OK, she'll have the burger without the cheese and simply not eat the bun. Staff took the order, but the burger arrived with cheese, clearly no attempt to provide what was ordered. At $25 for a burger, we honestly expected something a bit better. My meal was OK, again a bit overpriced for a burger especially considering we had to order chips as they wern't included. We felt it was overall quite underwhelming. We also found the toilets needed better attention - likely just a busy day, but definitely need a more regular cleaning schedule. If we knew the meal was going to be correct, we might consider coming back...

A pure labour of love goes into this food. I’ve been following these guys and their reviews for sometime. Hadn’t had a chance to go there and check it out until today, and I’m so glad I did! I know they have made some changes since their closure last year and I think they’ve done it. We ordered some buffalo wings, the chicken burger and the Cubano. It was all very very tasty - you could taste the time and the passion that they had spent brining, smoking the meats, making the breads ect. We enjoyed all of our food. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for atmosphere was from the noise of the loud tin chairs in the concrete from when a server was moving them and the bathrooms need a bit of an overhaul. But other that that - amazing food and you can tell these guys get it and still have their passion. Well done, we will be back forsure

What an absolute gem of a place, staff are always friendly and very welcoming matched by the some of the best smoked food we've tasted in Australia. What a view as well from the veranda up pretty much from the top of Mt Glourious and a great selection of local drinks as well, great for kite flying as it can get a little breazy. We've visited a couple of times now and keep trying something new each time. We love the triple cooked smoked chips with the homemade sauce and the Reuben with homemade pastrami has so much taste it's a winner for sure. Highly recommend a visit if in the area or even if not!

Great food, great service and just enough gluten free to keep me happy. I had the 700g Pork and it was absolutely delicious. It went down as easy as a 400g rump. The chips are beautiful and smokey and the salad was delicious. My wife really enjoyed the Cubano. It was a little too big for her, but she enjoyed it so much she ate the lot. And stole some of my chips. The place ran out of pork and burgers around 12:30, so turn up early if you have something on mind. The staff were excellent and the manager came out to make sure everything was ok. And a bonus.. it's dog friendly!
