I absolutely love this restaurant. My Dad started and owned a very successful Chinese Restaurant in Sydney 50 years ago that is still highly regarded today. He is not local and understandably is a tough critic.

He was not disappointed. The flavours were exactly what Australian/Chinese should be. The prices were quite high but the amount of beef, chicken, pork and seafood made one dish really for two. Well, he knows how much money it takes to cook Chinese dishes, so we won’t go there. Everyone needs to make a living. He was extremely impressed as I always have been.

The one thing he keeps talking about, and this may seem unimportant to most, is their fried rice. Dad prides himself on fantastic fried rice and told me that today it is very hard to find a Chinese Restaurant who make fried rice with it’s smokey and soy flavour, like he used to do- and that is a sign of knowing how to cook the basics of great Chinese. I did it. I finally gave 5 stars!!!!!! They are well deserved as well. Chinese is my #1 fave & I’ve tried quite a lot of Chinese restaurants in the Shoalhaven & Chinese restaurant at Greenwell Point bowling club is by far the best. I’ve grown addicted over the years. I have extended family from the Illawarra who drive down a few times a year to have lunch with us here. They say the same thing. The chefs are amazing. The ingredients taste fresh & the sauces are heavenly. There’s nothing I can fault. As well as having amazing chefs, they also have a great team of wait staff. So polite, friendly & accomadating. I enjoy sitting near the window walls to enjoy the view & if I know ahead of time that we will be visiting for a meal, I’ll phone up & book a table near the windows & the staff are happy to help if it’s possible. We went as a group of 15 for dinner. Majority have never been there before but is now one of their favourite restaurants. The menu is extensive, the quality is high, the portions generous and the service very efficient, prompt and friendly and the prices are surprisingly most reasonable. If you go during the day you can look out over the water which is less than 100 metres away. Bookings are recommended as the restaurant is popular with locals and visitors alike.
