Today my husband and I grabbed a meal here after doing some tasks nearby. We have been coming to The Good Pantry since it opened. Today we noticed some changes, and had no issues with this. However, we were sad to see the poor attitude of a male staff member (owner), who slouched while taking our order, leaning on the counter, chewing something and seeming less than keen to be there. Next we experienced a fairly long wait with only 1 person being served before us. It was not busy at all. We are always happy to wait when businesses are busy, not sure why we had to wait so long today. When our meals arrived, the presentation was not up to Good Pantry standards and one meal was not heated through properly. To finish off our meal, we noticed the owner of the business sit down to have his meal. This is fine and appropriate, however having him watch football with the sound up, is not appropriate. This cafe restaurant is not a pub, it is not a place where we expect the football to be broadcast. I do hope these are new owner glitches, and that The Good Pantry gets back...

I'm not even joking!
I have an obsession with hunting down great Halloumi Burgers, I've had them all over the world and believe it or not, The Good Pantry in Gumeracha makes a halloumi burger that eclipses all the rest I have ever had.
Hands down perfect! The ingredients were so damn fresh, the crunch of the slaw, the crisp of the lettuce, softness of the freshly toasted bun, not to mention the perfect cook on the halloumi! And that sauce was to die for! Seriously guys, I would have taken a photo but I literally inhaled it within seconds, weighing up if I should have gone back to get a second serve!

Read moreNo Competition = Poor Food & Service! We want to support the hills community and have tried this place time and again but yesterday's visit was yet another disappointment for food and service. Poached eggs that are served like hard boiled eggs, hollandaise sauce that had a distinct "vinegar-like" flavour and served by a girl who obviously needs to remember that the customers actually pay her wages! On top of everything else, every time we come, there is no receipt available because "the printer doesn't work". Having to type in my email address and then wait until I get home to print it out on my paper, screams of the attitude towards service in this place. If it were actually true that your printer still doesn't work after all these years, maybe buy a new one - lying to customers is really not...
