Gympie Sports Club — Restaurant in Gympie

Friday night we visited the Sports Club for dinner I ordered the Mexican parmy without the Chilli Con Carne. When it arrived I noticed it had mince on it I said to the young man this has chilli con carne on it and I asked for it without. He went and checked, comes back and says its just the mince. (If mince is on there that's chilli con carne,because that's how chilli con carne is made). Proceeded to try and eat it and there was mince and kidney beans. Called him back again and explained again, he took it back to fix. Then a lady presumably a manager came out and asked me what the problem was. I explained it all to her, she replies rudely well next time just order a chicken schnitzel and the toppings I want. Last time I ordered the same thing and got exactly what I wanted, no chilli con carne and all the other toppings that's on a Mexican parmy, salsa, cheese, guacamole, sour Cream and jalepenos. When my schnitzel came out again it was completely wrong. Cheese, bbq sauce, salsa and sour Cream. Not sure where the bbq sauce was on the menu, had no guacamole or jalepenos. Bbq sauce I dislike 👎 but I tried to eat it as everyone else at the table had finished eating. Very disappointing with the service from what I presume was the manager...

Very Very disappointed. My wife and I went to the club today (Sunday) for a meal and drinks at around 2pm. I ordered a scooner of xxxx gold but was told that the keg had run out and had to be changed. I told the Barman I would have a different beer but he insisted that he would change the keg and he would bring the drink to our table, that was the last I saw of him until I went back to the bar for a refund about 10/15 minutes later. He apologised and said he had forgotten about me. In the meantime I went to the food counter to order meals for us both, only to be told by another staff member that they didn't have a working till so couldn't order a meal either, she said she would come over to our table when she had a till so she could take our order,didn't see her again. I spoke to the duty manager about our disappointment, she claims that we should have been able to order a meal ,she wasn't aware that the till for the food wasn't in service. I received a refund for my scooner that I didn't get,then we left. To add insult to injury ,the club was very quiet with no more than 10/15 people in the bar and bistro. VERY VERY POOR SERVICE, gympie sports...

22July 2025 this visit was "Tbone Tuesday " and a meal to forget😵‍💫, just dont tempt fate as doth Tbones were inedible, i removed 2 stars from my previous review as it was so bad.......24th September have to add a star this visit, meal quality and presentation was 5 stars. 8th March 2024 another great meal, nice to see consistent quality. Dined again 10th January 2023 and they have lifted their game to 4 stars. Price was great value and my corned beef melted in my mouth. Well done guys!! The atmospher is light and airy, you can dine inside, or out on the verandas overlooking the golf course. We had fish and a serve of silverside, both were tasty and well presented, although I think some veg had been frozen ? Pricing on the lunch menu is very good at $15 a serve with out any membership.
