This has been open for a bit now so they should have sorted out their teething issues, Let's start with pros first then we'll smash out the cons
Pros: Food, Butter Lettuce, wedges? What was the wedge part? Either way this dish was ok, the sauce was pretty great and I actually enjoyed this, for $16 its OK priced.
Nonnas Chips, These aren't really chips at all, but I loved them, they are basically super crunchy roast potatoes, $12
Mushroom Rago, This dish comes with pasta for those wondering (it doesn't say that on the menu) It was also enjoyable, probably too oily for me but the others at the table loved it.
Service, They've obviously trained their staff well as we had some great experiences in this regard, It's nice to be treated well in restaurants these days, and they nailed it.
Venue, The seats outside are comfortable, The venue looks nice, Lots of parking, Lots of shade, Music selection was pretty varied and cool, except when MJ was playing, but apart from that, good spotify playlist!
Shall we do Cons now? I think so.
Cons: Beer selection, Terrible beer selection...... This is probably the most generic and most boring beer list I've seen in a while. Absolutely no love for local WA breweries! Why not? If you want us to support your business, why not help support our local industry too?
Secondly, why no alcohol percentage on the menu? Surely in this day people need to know how much alcohol they are drinking. It amazes me that RSA doesn't require this, but alas it's not a requirement, so carry on.
So many flies.... You can't eat without swatting flies off your food every 5 seconds. We were eating indoors and downstairs. Maybe upstairs is better?
No phone reception, You'd be wondering why this is a con, Well.... The Vegan menu is only available online with a QR code, which you can't get access to because the free WiFi doesn't work either.
Just reprint your paper menu, and add vegan options to it. That's it.
The table for 4 we were seated at was pretty small, we only had 3 people and still struggled. You'd never be able to serve 4 on this table, Just get a slightly larger table. Seats indoors were pretty uncomfortable too, the outdoors ones are better.
We had one minor issue at the end when a staff member "lost a docket" when we ordered coffee. They gave us a refund and a free coffee which was super awesome, but then the next staff member gave a completely different reason for why it was forgotten in the first place, "staff on break" So either lost docket or dunny break, it's a mystery we'll never know......
Price, It's very expensive here, costa living peeps will struggle, But if your parents gave you a heap of cash and you inherited your wealth, you'll love it. It's a catch 22 though. If the food was cheaper then you lose staff and food quality. I don't know what the answer is.
Would I come back? Did you read the part where I said they don't support local breweries? I don't want to for that reason, but I do want to check out the upstairs venue. I'll...
Read moreBeen here several times, the concept is great but it just doesn’t quite seem to hit the mark. Came with my elderly parents, sometime ago for dinner in the restaurant and there is constantly many beef cake looking bouncers sometimes with the agitated look on their face constantly going backwards and forwards around the tables. The way these guys looked, I’ve got the feeling that they were the cause of the trouble. We don’t need this sort of thing it made us feel really uncomfortable, was like they’re expecting the people at the other tables to start a brawl or something. The venue is located in a moderately affluent area, I wouldn’t expect a level of trouble that requires so much security. We didn’t hang around for desert we got out of there. Minus one star.
The noise in the dining room is intense, just the chatter of the customers made worse with additional music over the top. It seems as if the concept of acoustic control was forgotten when the place was built, what is strange is its relatively new. How could this be overlooked? Budget I guess. We can clearly see there has been some attempts to improve the situation, so it must’ve been even worse at some stage. We had a larger table for a large group and we simply couldn’t speak to anyone on the other side of the table. If you have a large group, you might be better off going somewhere else. Minus one star. I don’t mind ordering at the bar, when it’s for such a large group as ours it becomes a little inconvenient but is an absolute problem when you can’t get to the bar because there’s not enough staff on. A lot of people waiting at the bar for drinks and Orders. Remember it came for a family event to be with our family not to stand at a queue at the bar. Minus one star. My first visit was much better, I was with a small group of mates. The table was tiny although we had not much room for our plates and drinks being closer together we were able to actually hear each other over all the noise, strangely this was much more enjoyable even although we were sitting on stools. Perhaps stick to a very small group if you’re going to give it a try, sit on an angle so you don’t have to see the unsavoury questionable looking “security” people. For the time being and the foreseeable future, we will give the place a wide birth, perhaps in the future we may have another visit but we certainly won’t be rushing, too many other fantastic venues along the coast including our favourite only a little bit north of there right...
Read moreWhat a disgusting experience we have just had at this place… Left us speechless. Taking that it was Ladies’ night, the Dj started a music set, which was absolutely not suitable considering it was meant to be something energetic and fun playing. When my friend approached the dj to ask whether she could ask for another song, he made the gesture “go away” and called the security. Security said, that we cannot approach the dj due to the policy. We went back to our table and immediately noticed a few young ladies approaching the dj and asking for a song. The song was changed straight after their request. As we found out later, those ladies were the boss’s relatives and are allowed to make any requests. My question to this pace is: baring in mind, we live in Australia where equity and respectful behaviour is a key, how is that act even equal??? Offensive, disrespectful, towards the customers… I would also like to offer some clarification from our side. My friend, who is not a confident English speaker, attempted to communicate with the DJ using her phone’s translator in order to make a simple song request. At no point was there any intent to be disruptive or disrespectful. The use of Google Translate was purely out of necessity, and it’s unfortunate that this was perceived so negatively. What truly escalated the situation was the inconsistency in how guests were treated. While we were told that no one is allowed to approach the DJ or make requests, we witnessed multiple young women doing exactly that—with their song requests being immediately played. We were later told they were relatives of the owners, which only reinforced our impression of unequal and unfair treatment.
Following this, the attitude of the staff noticeably shifted after we mentioned our cultural background. This experience left us feeling singled out and disrespected rather than welcomed. In a country like Australia that prides itself on inclusivity and fairness, such treatment is deeply disappointing. We sincerely hope the venue reflects on this and ensures that all guests, regardless of background or connections, are treated with the same level of respect and...
