Dumbo Dumplings — Restaurant in Hobart

Mixed feelings here... The steam bun, instead of being a light fluffy pillow encasing a moist morsel of filling, was rather a thin, soft and flabby wrapper struggling to hold a small dense meatball that was threatening to fall through the soggy bottom... The pan fried dumplings were arguably the most moist and flavourful dumplings I've ever eaten, however the pan fried nature was mediocre at best, instead of being crunchy with the delicate lacy crunchy surrounds, it was just a barely browned bottom that was a bit dry and chewy, a stark contrast to the delectable interior! So much potential, but ultimately left me feeling...

If I could rate it zero stars, I would. Our order arrived 40 minutes late through Uber eats and once it arrived it was cold and had the most foul, off-smelling odour. Steer clear of this place if you want food that’s edible.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the dumplings may have been frozen and then microwaved. I got a pork soup that smelled foul like seaweed. Prawn, pork and beef dumplings all of which were so full of water that the dumplings broke apart, the meat fell out and I was left with soggy dumpling in hand that squirted water out. This happened with each of the dumplings! I actually feel sick...
