Jack Loves Red — Restaurant in Hobart

After being forced to give a few low review scores of late I was getting ready to be unhappy with Jack loves Red before I even gave it a shot, a trendy, newly opened, pizza / burger joint... come on this is going to be... actually pretty great. Prices weren't exactly cheap, on the other hand they weren't expensive either. When walking in with two kids below 7 there is often a look in the wait staffs eyes you start to recognise and that was completely missing here, our lovely waitress offered pencils and paper and took an immediate order for appetisers almost before we were seated. She was also patient while we sorted out the order (not always fun with two kids). The food was good, I want to say simple but that seems disrespectful, so let's call it straightforward and classic. The wait was entirely reasonable and the only delay in the service was while our afformentioned excellent waitress was busy serving other customers. On the whole good vibe, better food and even better service, can't wait for...

I've eaten in store once and had takeaway several times and I've never yet had a bad experience. The food was a little slower to be delivered tonight but I'm putting that down to the fact that it's a Saturday.

It still arrived hot and fresh and delicious! The chips were crispy and crunchy, just the way I like them, and the burger was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. If I had to make one complaint it would be that the bottom half of the bun had gotten a little soggy from the sauce. Didn't affect the flavour at all though and it still held together all right!

The price is pretty much what you expect at a restaurant and I find the serving size to be good.

Overall I definitely highly recommend this place and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends, family...

We ordered pulled pork burger, Australian pizza and beer batterd flake. I'm not so fond of burger because to me burger just "bun with sloppy meat in between" and most of the time I chose something else over it. However, I must admit that this pulled pork burger was amazing, even the bun itself was tasty. Just simply delicious. The pizza was good too. Only the beer battered flake is not that special. Just okay. The fish was bland and bit soggy and oily.

The place is small and always busy. Better to do reservation since you may not be able to get a seat during rush hour.

Will surely come again and choose different menu. Or burger? Let me...
