Howlong Hotel — Restaurant in Howlong

Can't recommend this establishment whatsoever... My partner and I came to the Howlong Hotel to eat dinner for her birthday, we both ordered the chicken parmigiana with a side of chips & gravy for $54 not including drinks.

We sat down after we ordered and our meals arrived not long after. When our plates were sat down on our table we both looked at each other and could instantly tell what the other was thinking. "where's the rest?" $54 for the smallest parmi I've ever seen, a handful of undercooked chips and the smallest tub of gravy that looked like it was for a baby. We noticed other patrons with more food on their plate so clearly only regulars get the amount on the plate that justifies the price. Massive steak and a LOT of chips.

I will give them this, the parmi was pretty good but for that price it needs to be bigger. Also might want to consider changing your ham as we could barely taste it. The gravy was nice but almost none came with the $2.50 cost of it. All of it came out quite hot but there needs...

Never met ruder staff. Don't expect a smile. If your husband finishes your child's ice cream he will get Death stared and we were refused a kids meal ice cream even after paying for several adults meals close to $30, we were told no because it's for an adult when in fact we had 4 children. So 3 kids got ice cream, 1 missed out. Meals were small for the price. Head to the court house down the street, much better pricing and never staff....

Over the last few months I have been trying the meals here! And what can I say other then amazing! Fantastic value, great menu and the food has always been cooked to perfection! Always greeted with lovely customer service too from ever person that works there. I would 110% recommend people to give this country pub a go you will not be disappointed!
