Imbil Town & Country Bakery — Restaurant in Imbil

On our way driving back from Gympie we stopped into this beautiful little town, where the street was alive with a few Sunday market stalls. Vintage cars parked along the street and live music playing before 11:00 am right outside the Imbil Country Bakery. We decided on a vegetarian pizza and a ham, tomato and cheese croissant and an apple turn over, a bee sting and their world best vanilla slice to take home. The apple turn over, I didn't even get a bite, someone couldn't stop after their first bite and ate my half as well. The bee sting I was lucky enough to get one bite, I was told it was too good to share. Now, the world best vanilla slice was just how it was described. After an hour in the car and an other two in the fridge, I was still able to cut it into four. Not like other vanilla slice where cutting it is near impossible. The pastry was buttery, flaky and still crisp, with a little dusting of icing sugar on top. The custard was just perfect in every way, I made sure I got my share of the famous vanilla slice.
