Rosewood Bakery — Restaurant in Ipswich City

Edit...I have bumped my review up a couple of stars because the last time we went there (sometime between April and June 2025), we had friendlier staff 😀. The pies were yummy too. ......

I just walked out of this bakery a few minutes ago after paying $8 for two small pastries. The lady that served me was very rude. I did my best to speak to her nicely but she just looked annoyed the whole time. She wiped her hands after taking my pastry out of that display shelf and I realised a bit of cream from my pastry had rubbed against her fingers and I also noticed her hands were dirty. I think I just donated money to this bakery as I won't be eating this pastry I just bought. I didn't want to say anything because she already look grumpy so would rather go somewhere else and avoid drama.

I come to Rosewood often to check out the little shops around here but first time to the bakery. Won't be coming back to this bakery.

Please be a little more welcoming to your customers. A smile...

Yesterday I was discriminated against by staff and was given filthy disgusted looks by staff and was left standing in the store and staff hid out the back talking about me because I’m covered in tattoos , the owner then came out and refused me service on the basis saying no mask no service and wouldn’t serve me , but then just this morning walking past saw other patrons being served without a mask in store and leaving with baked products from there store ! So I am disgusted and appalled by their behaviour and the way I was treated and will not ever be back or supporting their business and have been sharing my experience with other locals and have since been told that they have had similar experiences and locals will not support this business !!! Disgusted...

I got the chunky steak pie, and it was by far one of the worst pies I have had in my travels. And I've stopped in a lot of bakeries. The only positive thing I can comment about it the flaky top. However, the flavour of the pastry was equivalent to eating a sheet of A4 paper, it was flavourless and a little too doughy to enjoy. The filling was mediocre at best, I found at least 3 small chunks and the rest of it was gravy, while it did taste somewhat okay I wouldn't go out of my way to come out here and get a pie when you have a multitude of other bakeries that do significantly better. As for the service I felt there was such hostility as soon as I entered, the lady was speaking to the previous customer in an extremely rude tone. I doubt I'll...
