Sushi n Kor — Restaurant in Jandakot

Came in for dinner but was disappointed with the experience there. I should have walked away when I saw the restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday night but I decided the give it a try because of all the reviews I read online about this restaurant. I’d give a big fat zero to the young bloke with glasses for his customer service. Other staff were fine though. He literally wasn’t happy with serving customer or taking orders, not sure what I did that offended him? Hope you had fun gossiping with your colleagues. No excuses for your attitude lol. Anyway, the food was just okay, the ‘authenticity’ in Korean dishes was lacking. Would definitely go to other Korean restaurants that are much better in terms of food quality and services. Just wanted to give you all future customers a heads-up.

*In response to your defensive reply towards to constructive feedback, I could see why the restaurant was meh. Nah, don’t try to make up stories I asked for a container and was expecting to pay but you guys did not want me to? Also, was more than happy to pay for the surcharge but your board was MISSING LETTERS and we just wanted to ask to clarify. He looked so done throughout the whole process of taking orders (ie: no eye contact or smile) while I was being polite. I mean this is a customer facing role… Customers don’t pay to get treated like this..If I wasn’t happy to pay for the surcharge I wouldn’t have spent $54 (wasted my money though for the bad experience). There are other comments that mention the “authenticity” maybe you should do more research as well. Please go through all the google review comments for your reference.

Perhaps my favorite thing about this place is that.. despite the name, there really are no sushi options.

Instead- let me tell you why you need to stop considering if this is the place you order from and just go all in. Asian curry? Divine and generous. Bulgogi? Fresh and delicious. Literally all of their entrees? DELICIOUS. Anything on that menu with their kimchi? 110% worth writing this review.

I had had kimchi stew in the past and it was so off putting, but I decided to give these folks a go when I was ill and just needed a comforting warm stew to push me through. The stew was not only delicious, it was an incredibly generous portion for the price, the chunks of meat were the perfect addition, and adding the rice gave it a porridge consistency that melted my woes away.

Please please please give this place a try. They’re my staple now whenever I get a delicious Korean food itch- and you will...

Update as of February 2023: Taste has changed so drastically. Understand that owner is still on recovery. But with the limitation of the menu, I would expect those few dishes to be good. It's a disappointment since my last visit was really good. Mee goreng was wayyyyy too salty, all we could taste was just saltiness. All the other dishes were just too salty and lost their original flavour. The side kimchi as well was too sour, they tasted over fermented. Given two stars because my last visit months ago was really good. Hoping their standard will be back, otherwise I won't be returning.

Food was really good. They changed the menu since the last time I was here. Taste of food improved as well. Glad that it's close to where I live and away from the busy city. Would come back for a quick meal...
