I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. It’s perfect pub grub, especially if you have just finished one of the many walks/hikes that are on offer in the area. I saw plenty of dishes coming out of the kitchen and they all look as good as each other. It was hard to decide what to have. I settled for the fish and chips. The batter was perfect done. Thin, crispy and had a subtle taste as to not over power the taste of the fish. The ladies at the table next to us were complaining theirs was not long enough and I can confirm mine was a little on the underdone side but not enough for it to have concerned me. My husband had the steak sandwich and absolutely loved it. He said the steak was perfectly time, nice and tender. He was impressed with the attention to detail as the tomato cores had even been removed. For drinks and food you have to go up to the bar to order. I think they could have done with one more person behind the bar but the food service was awesome. It was a few young boys delivering food, they were so polite and confident. I wish all wait staff were able to conduct themselves in this manner. Definitely recommend going here even if it’s just for a pint.

This was my second visit and even more disappointing than the first a couple of months ago. The staff are ridiculously slow to serve at the bar and look and act miserable. Not one smile or greeting to any customers. Patrons line up in single file to order drinks like they're in a supermarket or queuing for a ride at The Royal Show; it's just bizarre. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was bone dry and well overcooked. This was topped off with the delightful crunch of sand throughout the lettuce. The lady at the bar was apologetic. I couldn't get another salad as there was no more lettuce (maybe not a bad thing). She offered me another meal. The chicken burger was only marginally better than the salad. The bun was a depressing, small and lifeless thing. The chicken was cooked much better but there were ingredients missing - there were no pickles or cheese, according to the menu. The chips were ok. Most of the tables remained uncleared while we were there, and we especially loved the soothing sounds of static coming over the PA system. Total failure of an establishment, don't bother. The Banh Mi's next door are 1000% better!

While we didn’t get the opportunity to eat from their lunch or dinner menu, we were satisfied by there bar menu. We had just finished an enjoyable bushwalk on Kitty’s gorge and we were all ravenous! The bar menu had a good selection of bar friendly meals, we started with chips and wedges, then shared a roast roll (pork was the offerings for the day), nachos and cheesy garlic bread. All tasted good. The atmosphere was pleasant, warmed by a toasty wood fire. Lots of interesting decor Line the walls, showing the history of the town and logging past. Large expansive outdoor area with plenty of room for the kids to run around and equipment for them to play on. The only comments I can make was the food was expensive for a bar menu (forgot to take a photo) and the kids said the play equipment was damaged/broken (I didn’t see myself). All-in-all we enjoyed our visit and will be back one day to taste either lunch or dinner menu

Unfortunately have had a disappointing visit recently. Myself and group of friends attended we pre booked and the table was reserved as requested for 11am (open time) One friend has some food allergies and had even emailed ahead, with no reply. She seen there was gfo online but was wanting dairy free options as well. The staff member when she went to order was quite flustered and was stating "I don't want to poison you" over and over when she asked simple questions ie what items are gluten and dairy free, people behind lining up were able to hear and she had to ask him to "just calm down" as he was quite flustered. Hsi response to any question she had was i dont know its ALL made off site... apparently even the salad is prepared off site, the menu shows cucumber, carrot, lettuce, tomatoes ect In the end she asked for the Thai salad no dressing or onion and the gf squid added with 3 kids meals and a chicken burger minus salad. Others on the table inc Myself ordered 2 steak sandwiches, 2 more kids meals, a vegitarian parmi, kids meals and another meal (pretty sure a burger) meals were coming out at different times and we often had staff who kept coming out to all different tables asking if "this was their food" and we had them approach our table with others meals several times. The line was huge at one point and the food and drink like was one with others walking up to the bat ahead of the line which got some grumbles (i assumed they may have been part of some social club there).

The steak sangas were ok nice but on the chewy side, chips nice, kids meals majority Nuggets and the slider burgers seemed ok, the chicken burger was not rated nice tasting and the salad and squid come out it was a bowl of leaves with a Couple of Cherry tomatoes nothing else even though cucumber and cartot were on the menu or even the cabbage in the thai salad and the squid on top. It come out with mayo on the side and my friend asked the staff member if the mayo on the side was dairy free, she said I think so not very convincing, my friend asked if they could just check with the kitchen which resulted in an eye roll and a grunt with them walking away. When they brang out the vegitarian parmi my other friend asked if that was vegi as they said chicken pami, he said 'ummm yes' ehe took a bite honestly we couldnt tell if it is or isn't chicken, the texture looked like chicken but it was so hard and it had 3 of us taste it and still were not 100% sure but belive it was due to the taste being a little off in taste, the other staff member come back with the squid and salad, slid it on the table stating its dairy free and walked away quite rudely. Friend finally started to eat the squid, only to find a bug, fried into the batter on the squid. At this point she was upset with the response from all staff and lack of care and took the meal back and simply asked for a refund and she would just get a bowl of the gf chips. She spoke with a female staff member the male fron earlier come out and was upset at my friend when she explained there was a bug fried into the squid batter and she just wanted a refund he stormed off ignoring her and leaving her standing there, no other staff approached her. In the end the meals were sub par kids area had weird flooding from the ground that created mud and smelt, staff seem overwhelmed, no idea what is going on and a off site kitchen with people simply taking from packets of items that must not have labels. Kitchen 701 was open my friend went down the road and they easily made her a lovely fresh salad with no dressing, gf, dairy free and no onion, with understanding and friendly staff. Such a shame, assume new staff, new management or poor management put a bit of a downer on a lovely putting with a very unwell friend who hadn't been out in so long, to be made to feel like they did to her. 3 stars for food as it wasn't all that bad but not the best they have served me in the past, terrible change of staffing and care factors and atmosphere is nice with changes needed in kids area and the...

Would not reccomend. Book table for 5pm. Order food at 530pm still waiting for food at 710pm after already asking at 630pm that its going to be another 15 minutes to be told it's going to be another 20 minutes. I understand being mothers day it could be busier than normal but mothers day never changes its always is the same Sunday each year. If you couldn't handle the amount of people booked than you should have turned away customers from booking. The fact that we had 5 young children (5 and under) and already was placed in the beer garden with no heater and freezing out butts off. The childrens food wasnt even brought out for them to enjoy.

When asked about cocktails we were told that the bar doesn't know how to make cocktails which I feel is extremely poor and not an excuse for the bad business model which seems to be ran by the owners.

We ordered carbonara without mushrooms which was confirmed to be OK by the cashier who took our order And that when complained about the wait time was then told that it couldn't actually happen so therefor if we had recieved our meals we would have recieved mushrooms and then what would they have done.

The lady running the show (what looked like she was) was extremely rude to not only customers but the people working there. The way she spoke to the crew working Was extremely un proffessional and her positioned should be questioned and reviewed by the owners

Clearly there is a huge lack of communication or the person in charge has not the skills on how to be an effective leader or manager.

It seems that im not the only person who have had issues with today, I honestly feel a review on how your business is operated should be top priority as if this type of service continues I see alot of customers not returning and your business being...

Seriously underwhelming.

My wife chose the location as she knew they had an alfresco area that overlooked a jungle gym, so it would be the perfect place to have a bite while our 2 year old wore off all her extra energy. Dissability parking was more like dissability drop off then go park in the main car park but anyway. Upon further inspection the playground was in the direct sunlight, no shade at all, nada, zero, zip the slide would have seared a steak and the rest of the equipment wasn't much better, it just screamed shade sail please get me a shade sail. In regards to dissability friendly I feel as though the owner had gone to the absolute minimum requirements to gain that title most of the ramps needed a run up then lean forward so you dont fall flat on your back. The food was standard pub grub nothing super special I ordered the extra chewy steak sandwich while my wife had the steak which she very much enjoyed, so there where a few inconsistencies within the menu. We personally expected a bit more flash but on the other hand we understand that their main clientele would be throughout the weekend/public holiday. Staff were actually really friendly and had excellent customer service. Upon leaving we found that a extra large van had parked directly across the drive way up for wheelchair access, so our only options were either ask them to move with a tired and bored 2yr old and screaming newborn or slide slowly down the very steep embankment, I chose the latter. Not quite the pubs fault but still. So all in all we were very dissatisfied and don't envision going back anytime soon unfortunately as it is a gorgeous spot and like I said the staff were great but we would have been better off going down the local country club.

P.s sorry...
