How do you turn a potential 1 star review into a 5: When the diners arrive at 6.00 for the dinner reservation made yesterday and The Anchorage is booked for a private function, you don’t turn potential customers away:
blame staff for taking the booking Blame the customer for not receiving the call to alert them of the mixup. Dismissively and off handedly apologise, saying “there’s nothing I can do” and suggest that they have fish and chips or go to the pub.
INSTEAD you explain that there is a private function, reiterate that dinner isn’t an option, and graciously offer a glass of wine and a snack plate as compensation. THAT’s good customer service. Sadly this...
Read moreI've visited Karumba many times and always eaten at the Sunset Hotel...never again (not because its bad but because this place is just great!). The tapas menu looks ambitious but they completely nailed it. Had a chance to chat to the chef earlier and confirmed the seafood is local and fresh - and it certainly was. Had the fish ceviche, salmon croquettes and crocodile popcorn (shared because the portions are generous) to start and then the fresh seafood marinara for the main. Fantastic. Rest of the group had pizza, scallops and an awesome sushi platter. If you come up here you have to try this place. And don't get me started on...
