Edited to add - My voice was never raised, I have severe anxiety and would never lol. I literally asked a question about a previous LATER breakfast time, did not mention all day breakfast once? Like I said I asked a question, could’ve been answered nicely and professionally but the young man was just plain rude. Owners reply is a literal lie and just as rude haha, we did find a much nicer and cheaper breakfast in Roleystone thank you!
Came at 9:45am for breakfast with our dogs (after Santa photos ran late, drove 40mins to show my partner my favourite Perth venue after a year in QLD wasn’t aware of any new breakfast times or a cut off time for ordering). Anyway, was asked if we had been found a seat and I said no we came in the courtyard entrance with the dogs so just sat outside at a free table. Was informed the outside area wasn’t being used at the moment then was also told breakfast had stopped, lunch started at 11am. I politely asked if the breakfast hours etc had changed as I remember breakfast being a bit later as I always worked nights but I could’ve been mistaken. Young worker was unbelievably rude and blunt. Politely said we’d find somewhere with breakfast for the pooches. Less than 1 minute later another worker came out to tell us we couldn’t sit at the outside area. We were standing up looking up other local / all day breakfast options, dogs were sitting waiting with us to start walking away from the table (my greyhound has three legs and was sitting on his bed) Said again we were just looking for a different breakfast place quickly and apologies and was just ignored. Normally a great place but have no idea why the outside area wasn’t unavailable this time (no signs or stating it was reserved for function etc) and the rudeness wasn’t appreciated after asking simple questions about one of my favourite venues! Was no way rude or argumentative just honestly curious, will not...
Read moreMy family came here for lunch today and overall were happy with the experience. When I called through for the reservation I was greeted by the infamous Marlene, and there was a slight pause from my end as to whether to hang up or continue with the reservation. I placed the reservation. The only thing that had me pause was from reading a previous review from a person who had a bad experience.
Staff: Were attentive and polite. Ordering: We changed the menu a little when ordering and our whims were catered for. Prices: Affordable and value for money. Food: Came as requested within fifteen minutes of placing the order. All dishes presented well and were very tasty. Atmosphere: We were seated outside and the view was very cosy.
There were only two downsides that dropped the rating down one star.
The table was greasy and sticky. The wood was natural and unsealed so whatever had been spilled in its lifetime had seeped into the surface. Not very hygienic and had I dressed in a white long sleeved shirt, it would have been ruined. I understand going for the rustic look, but I personally would have been happy if the tops were sanded back and sealed with a clear resin. The staff smoke somewhere within the grounds and the smell was being blown into the area where we were seated. One of the servers was a smoker and when she passed us we could smell it on her as well. This may not bother smokers, but those of us who don't smoke don't care for the smell. It's as offending as someone farting near you for five minutes straight. If you’re a server you should also spray yourself with a deodorant after smoking to mask the stench.
Would we return? Yes, but we would definitely request a...
Read moreI made a booking for 8 and the booking arrangements were smooth but that is all that went well.
I ordered chicken parmi and all I ate was the tiny salad on the side. The chicken was so dry and the cheese had been so overly melted that it tasted like rubber and the sauce actually became part of the rubber texture and the chips were cold. It was without doubt, the worst chicken parmi I have ever had. I had looked forward to it because it was gf and not many places do gf parmi.
Secondly, there were 8 of us and despite asking for all meals to come out at the same time, the meals came out all over the place and in fact the 2 people whose meals arrived first, had finished before the 3rd and 4th meal came out and then the last 4 meals came out haphazardly when meal 3 and 4 were almost finished, with the chicken parmi coming out last and very, very inedible.
I have dined many times at this restaurant and it used to be good but to be honest, I don't know whether I will be back again after this expensive experience - it is expensive, when the meals can not be eaten. I not the only person who was disappointed with their meal. I dined there about 3 months ago and had a similar disappointing experience but thought I'd give them another chance as previously, they had been good. I had planned on going there the next day for breakfast with my family but decided not to after this experience.
To be fair, the owner phoned me after I emailed him to let him know but I did not speak to him as I was working and when I returned the call, he was not available and I just...
