Absolute diamond 💎 of a place like a food oasis in the south west. For a cafe free-style casual experience these guys are knocking it out of the park. Service with a smile is always a standard to try and achieve in the Service industry. Indeed as a former professional Chef myself I know how first contact can make or break an experience. These guys were ticking over fairly busily upon my visit but totally engaged with my partner and myself to ensure we were looked after and served promptly and efficiently. I thought the menu looked a little crowded or the font was making it look too busy perhaps (probably just me). I ordered a simple breakfast wrap which I have to say got a 10 from me , this is not something that happens for me ever, it was nicely presented and tasted amazing aided & abetted by a great coffee and one of their rhubarb cakes which although a bought in product really kept the momentum of awesome in the mouth going until the last bight...on the way back from Kendenup we managed to make it back for another great coffee, but alas was too late for anymore of their great food. I recently visited black cockatoo cafe at Kojonup and was extremely disappointed with the service. From the moment we entered, the staff's behavior was rude and unwelcoming. Instead of a warm greeting, we were met with dismissive and derogatory remarks that made us feel uncomfortable. It's a shame that a place with potential can be let down by such poor customer service. I hope the management addresses this issue, as no one should have to experience this kind of treatment when dining out.

I had visited this place once before while traveling and was looking forward to doing the same this time. My guests and I were eager to taste their wonderful food, but unfortunately, this visit was nothing like the last. If ever you find yourself in Kojonup then I highly recommend The Black Cockatoo Cafe. I was very surprised at how much I absolutely enjoyed eating lunch at this Cafe. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. While the decor is plain and simple it's also very relaxing both inside the Cafe and outside. The food was really good, I had a BLT and an iced coffee and both were made with lots of flavour in other words simply delicious. There is plenty of parking available and plenty of room both inside and out. It is kept beautifully clean plus The Black Cockatoo is situated at the Kojonup Arts Centre so that is an added bonus.
