I really wish this place was better than it is. Food is sub-par for the price which is disappointing but the service is generally terrible. Extremely limited GF & DF options for those with dietary requirements and the things that are GF on the menu are usually (out of stock). Coffee is way to subtle(and milky) for my liking but that's personal taste.
Now for the long-winded story.... We were seated outside and basically ignored for 20 or so minutes when we ordered drinks and our food in one go the drinks didnt come out for 10-15 minutes and food slow to follow (half an hour after drinks came, especially given that there were not that many customers). Table next to us had issues with what they had requested and the waitress had NO CLUE how to handle the situation and just kept staring at them .... bit awkward for all..., our food came but they didnt supply and cutlery, ended up going to the counter myself as we asked for some and sat there for a good 5 minutes waiting so we could eat are semi cold food.
Just no urgency from staff or maybe understaffed hard to say but service level is so poor. As others say they have the perfect spot to be amazing and have such a great business the locals could be proud of but instead mediocre food and super limited options for those who...
Read moreFor breakfast the eggs Benedict is awesome. I'm not a coffee drinker so I have a large hot chocolate. Which is awesome. When it appears with a in house made marshmallow... it's going to be a good day.
Lunch I'm very partial to the millars burger. I'm a simple man but the chip and burger combo is filling and delicious.
If you're on a Saturday night and you want pizza but aren't into the plastic cheese of some other places (I'm not judging. Sometimes I'm keen on blocking my arteries too), then a pizza from millars has the most delightful pizza base. The meat is from gourmet local butchers which is great but if I'm being honest I'd get a plain wood fired pizza base on it's own!
I've done dessert there with a strawberry pizza. This is probably the most over the top, i could care less what it's doing to me, last meal I'd have. I was upset I'd got anything before it as I struggled to eat all of it.
In future. I think I'll start with dessert and if I'm lucky get seconds.
Oh. They have other food. It also looks nice. But I've never had to order anything else besides those things. I've never been...
Read moreWe had a stop over at this cute little cafe this morning. We ordered a cheese and tomato toastie and a salmon eggs Benedict with a coffee and tropical smoothie.
We were left a little disappointed with the the food. The eggs Benedict sauce was quite rich and dense compared to the ratio of the rest of the food. The salmon did not really look like salmon and more so like tuna with a pink hue.
The cheese and tomato toastie was quite underwhelming with white bread and cheese and tomato. My husband ordered and so I forgot to ask him to ask if the bread was sourdough however, as the rest of the toast menu was sourdough, I assumed it would be although in future I’ll be sure to check.
The staff were very busy and some younger staff may have been new but they were all very lovely and accomodating.
We should have taken pictures of our meals for reference but hope this feedback is not taken as criticism as we do see that the staff are all trying and...
