Today I had lunch with my mother and grandmother and I thought you would be interested in what I have to say about my experience. On arrival, we had no service and therefore sat ourselves as we had no idea if a. someone was going to seat us and b. if it was self seating or not. Once we sat down we were greeted by an extremely hostile waitress (blonde hair and tattoo).
Throughout our lunch we experienced rudeness from the waitress... I ordered a Buhda bowel (it looked divine pictured on your website) however, what I received was spinach out of the packet, 8 chickpeas (straight out of the can?), cold oily capsicum and pumpkin and some tomato. A teaspoon of quinoa sprinkled over the top. To top it off the salad? was absolutely coated in an orange chilli sauce (almost as is they were pouring it on and the cap of the bottle fell off and coated each ingredient). I asked for my salad to be soy free, vegan and gluten free.
I was unsure if the orange chilli sauce was vegan so I stood up and asked the waitress who replied "yep pretty sure". She did not check with the chef which I thought was unacceptable. From further research it was found that the orange chilli sauce was in fact sriracha mayo that contained SOY. Couldn't have been further from what I was expecting which was a vegan lime dressing atop a delicious Buddha bowl.
My mother and grandmother had lovely meals however the rude waitress left an unpleasant taste in their mouths.
On completion of their meals I once more had to stand up and ask our waitress (she had not checked on us once and was talking with the other waitress the whole time) if I could have my orange sauce salad to go - as I could not eat it. She replied "ok whatever" and brought a container over to our table and dumped it next to me. I was mortified. I asked her to please do it which she did however she was not happy about it.
No one asked if we would like to finish our meal with another wine, coffee or dessert.
We were so expecting a lovely experience at Apricus - it is such a beautiful space however we left unsure if we would ever return. Its such a shame because we had such high expectations!
I'm sure this is not everyones experience and perhaps the waiter was having a bad day. I have never written a negative feedback before but I have never experienced such a poor service...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience with Apricus, in particular the Director of Weddings Ash, and wanted to write a review to inform other couples planning weddings of our experience.
We first enquired in mid-April, but our initial email was lost. Communication officially began on April 24 with Ash sending us the 2025/2026 wedding compendium. We responded just over 24 hours later on April 25. Ash replied on April 29, and we followed up again on May 11. At no point during this time were we informed that there was a deadline (May 1st) to secure 2025/2026 pricing, or that prices would soon increase. Had this been clearly communicated, we would have confirmed a date and paid a deposit within that timeframe.
We were later sent the 2026/2027 compendium, which included a $1,000 increase in venue hire, something Ash later inaccurately claimed in an email had not increased. We also received a final email stating we had taken 17 days to respond to initial contact, when in fact we had replied in just over 24 hours. This kind of misleading communication significantly affected our trust in the process.
Adding to the frustration, Ash scheduled a meeting with us and then failed to attend. We later learned her role had been placed on hold, but this was not communicated to us, and the meeting was never cancelled. We arrived as planned, only to find no one there. This lack of basic courtesy and communication was deeply unprofessional.
Furthermore, we were confused to learn that our January 2026 reception was being classified under the 2026/2027 compendium. Logically, one would assume that a â2025/2026â compendium refers to a financial year (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 ) and would therefore cover events in January 2026. If that is not the case, then the naming of the compendium is misleading, and this lack of clarity only contributed to the breakdown in communication.
Weâve chosen not to proceed and are extremely disappointed by the miscommunication, lack of transparency, and ultimately the poor standard of professionalism. This experience wasted valuable planning time and left us without confidence in their ability to deliver. We hope others have a smoother experience, but ours did not meet...
Read moreCame here for lunch 1/9/24 around 1pm, table of 6. upon arrival we sat for around 10 minutes before having our drink order taken, in this time 3 waitresses walked past but without acknowledgment. drinks were received in good time although one person from our table received theres 10 minutes after the rest of the table, not a major concern just unusual as the drink was a cold drink. Food order was taken in good time, 3x cheeseburgers 1x chicken burger 1x japanese bowl 1x salmon Benedict. We got our first 2 burgers (1 chick 1 cheese) very fast, we then didnât receive the rest of the tables meals until the burgers were well finished (25min atleast) it was not the wait time but the inconsistency of the table flow, its common practice that all meals are received at around the same time unless requested otherwise. I then had to ask a waiter to clear our table of 2 plates and 4 cups as they were taking up a significant amount of room, after i had cleared them to the side when doing so the waiter took 2 plates, no cups and never returned, leaving myself to take the cups up to have space for my meal. i then had to walk up to the front to ask for more water as no waiter checked to see if the table required anything else, nor even came near out table, so no opportunity arose. The custom service was a real let down for such a beautiful restaurant and meals, and sadly not a lack of skills from wait staff, simply a lack of effort...
