Alert all people who enjoy going to The Fish coop in Laurieton. #laurietonfishcoop I love this place and love their food. Six months ago we were having lunch at this careless place and a 95 year old man fell as there is no safety colour on the step leading onto the outdoor serving area. The man was severely injured as he fell on his face. We called for an ambulance and I alerted the staff in the restaurant. Next day I called the manager and reported the critical incident. We spoke at length. He told me that they rented the venue and that he had alerted the owners plenty of times about this safety issue. He āpromisedā me that if nothing happened that day, he would go to Bunnings, but paint and paint it himself. Since I wrote this review, the manager contacted me to let me know that the step has now been painted yellow. Good response by the new manager. I have been there many times since then. Spoken to the staff at the counter about this serious issue as we have plenty of of elderly with vision problems in the area.
Why hasnāt anything happened yet? Shame on you...

This is the best seafood we've eaten anywhere - whether that be calamari in The Greek Islands, oysters in France, fish & chips in Great Britain or wherever. Honestly, the hand peeled and crumbed prawn cutlets were to die for, the calamari melts in the mouth, the whiting fillets are sweet and cooked perfectly, not forgetting the crunchiest potato scallops ever or the crunchy chips all of which were cooked perfectly. The young owner is more than welcoming, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The extended decking over the pristine water is the perfect place to sit under the shaded umbrellas and enjoy the best take-away seafood you could wish to eat. I hope this place gets approval to develop their site so that more people can enjoy this experience. Thank you for the best fish and chips ever, we loved it all so much we went back the next...

So worth the drive to this beautiful town for the fresh fish purchases by the river or the wonderful takeaway all washed down with some groovy old music and seasoned with the old fashioned country service. You don't need a Delorian to go back in time, whatever vehicle you own gets your here. Johnny Cash with fish and chips by the water The best batter, not all soaked in the oil. A bit like tempera batter and great chips. All of the above is very therapeutic for the soul. You could take some fresh prawns home for dinner, prawn sandwich. There you go mum, 2 meals sorted, one trip. How do you avoid cooking the next meal on you holiday. I will give you more...
