This morning 26th October 2025 my partner and I decided to have breakfast at this place for the first time. We walked in and sat down for 5 mins then I got up and went and ordered our meals and coffees. The cafe was buzzing with people and it seemed like a great vibe up until our meals and coffee came out. My partners meal was the big breakfast and that was fine. I ordered the scrambled eggs on Turkish with one hash brown. There literally was hardly any egg on my meal so I questioned I'm assuming is the owner. I explained to him how disappointed I was with hardly anything on the plate and yes he did offer to get the meal cooked again but what I also didn't like was his poor behaviour and his attitude. He was literally right in my face where I felt threatened so I told him to go away and at first he still stood there over me not happy that I didn't want another meal ( HE WAS STILL IN MY FACE ) so he then turns to me and says LEAVE. I said ok but I want a refund to which he agreed. In the meantime my partner was still at the table eating his breakfast which I was fine with. I along with the horrid owner was at the cash register getting a refund. The money was handed back to me by the owner who made a smart arse comment to me then he proceeds to walk over to my partner while he was still eating and snatches the plate off him with cutlery going flying. I would also like to mention because the doors are open there were flies including blow flies everywhere through the cafe. When I originally went up to order and it was the owner who served me i noticed the flies that were on the croissants which were sitting on top of the counter obviously with no cover on it. I shooed the flies off the croissants to which the owner replied yes we get them in here because we have the doors open. Our first and last time here what an absolute horrible experience. To the owner when in business you take the good with the bad and with your bad behaviour and smart arse attitude you won't go a long way in life. I will also add that your previous responses to customers reviews is despicable and disgusting. You have a wonderful day and tomorrow when you wake up you really need to think about your poor behaviour. If I could of given you a zero I would of. NOTE: I will be notifying the department of health about the amount of flies in your cafe over the food which you are still selling...

We had breaky here while we were visiting the area. We visit the area a few times a year and have been wanting to return for breaky since the renovations. The restaurant looks quite nice and is far more spacious than it was previously. We ordered, bacon and eggs with hollandaise, breaky wrap, cappuccino and sticky chai. This came to around $55. We felt this was a little high (probably 15% higher than expected, with the breaky wrap coming to $25 on it's own!). The food was ok, not amazing, not awful. The hollandaise was cold, like it was taken out of the fridge when they started cooking our meals. This was disappointing as hollandaise is supposed to be served warm, never an issue when it's made in house. It also did not taste like hollandaise, and wasn't the right colour. I'd say it was store bought and had been open in the fridge for a while. Bacon and eggs were nicely cooked, toast was ok, a little soft and quite thin. The breaky wrap was ok, nothing exciting and we felt it wasn't worth $25. Cappuccino was fine. Sticky chai lacked flavour. I even tipped the milk back in the pot with the chai, hoping it would infuse better but this only helped slightly. Packet chai has more flavour. Lots of space for those wanting to have a larger gathering. Views over the water are lovely. We find that normally when places have a big reno, the prices go up to justify the spend but the food doesn't improve to reflect the price increase. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, it wasn't an excellent experience, it was just bland and a little expensive. Glad we tried it but unlikely to...

The cafe was busy but in no way full. There was obviously a shortage of staff. When we arrived and went to order, we were told that everything we were going to order off the menu was not available. We had to go by what was available. There really shouldn’t have been menus out as 80% of the breakfast meals were no longer available. There was one person on the floor taking food out who was run off his feet. Not only that, we had to listen to, who we assume was the cook, yell out to him from the kitchen, “order up Name]. I’m not going to say it again”, “[Name]”, “[Name]” etc on repeat. That’s how we learned his name. Hearing her the whole time we were there yelling at or to him. We could even hear her when we were out in the street on the corner which is on the other side of the premises to the kitchen. We’d like to commend [Name for his efforts. It wasn’t as if he was slouching in a corner. It sounded terrible. I don’t think we’ll be going back which is a shame. Mostly because of the yelling from the kitchen. I think if you have a lack of staff and food on what is going to be a busy day, it’s best to close instead of subjecting your customers to the stress...

The service was friendly and efficient. The food was a little overpriced considering the portion size. A ham and cheese croissant = 1 slice of ham 1 slice of cheese on what appeared to be a Woolworths croissant. $16.50! I didn't order but did receive bacon with my mushrooms and scrambled eggs. The eggs tasted like they were made on water, definitely not cream! All areas were clean and tidy, though some ceiling fans inside would make a huge difference. The view was quite relaxing, looking along the channel. EDIT: please see below the receipt for $48.99 1 scrambled eggs with mushrooms 1 ham cheese croissant 2 white coffees I didn't have an issue with the price of the eggs or the coffee BUT I still stand by $16.50 for the ham/cheese croissant that still looked and tasted like Woolies was over the top, regardless of whether you made it or not.

Another hidden gem. We’re two travelling couples from SA and QLD who arrived in Bonny Hills on a Friday. Dinner that night at the Surf Club, and it was so good we had brunch there the next day. Looking for somewhere for dinner on the Saturday night we were told that the same people run the River View Café at nearby North Haven. We couldn’t resist. Chilli Prawn Pasta dishes and pizzas were ordered along with a variety of drinks. The local Lambrusco was very palatable. Thoroughly enjoyed the service, food and ambience. Wished we were locals. Good job mate.

Was pretty disappointed in the food overall. My salmon was cooked well and potatoes but that's where it stopped. Vegetables overcooked soggy. My partner was excited to order barramundi and chips but it was frozen sticks of something very fishy and dry definitely not barramundi as we know it. Our daughter in law order $35 scotch fillet completely drowned in a huge bowl of gravy. Tacos were ok. Burger dry and stodgy. Sorry guys bit of a let down. Definitely room for improvement and especially on pricing not matching quality. Staff were lovely though.
