The Rec Bar | Malaga — Restaurant in Malaga

A mate and I chose to go here for a drink one Saturday night as it's half way between our houses. After living in the Alexander Heights area for over 15 years, I had never heard of the Rec so after a google search found that it did food and had a pretty good wine list. Both of us Ubered it and was easy to get too. Has big beer garden, pool table, clean loo's and good music. We never ended up eating but after me not being able to get a red wine they said they would have to find some, so ordered a Jack's and coke, kind of went hang on they are attached to a bottle mart and my mate went and got a round, somehow coming back with a red wine for me. My turn for next drinks, up I went and asked for a red wine and the girls were scrambling around and found some airplane size bottles of red that they were using. I had two reds as didn't know the expiry date of them and wasn't risking getting sick. Had they had the proper wine list on website, we would have stayed longer than the hour we were there. They had a skimpy on, she was gorgeous and well spoken, the "regulars" at the pool table were respectful of new comers and moved out the way so we could get to the bar, even saying a nice little Gday, haven't seen you here before, the beer garden was great to sit in, the loo's were clean (big brownie point!) and music wasn't too loud and what you would normally hear at a pub where I grew up. I will definitely be giving The Rec another chance but will call ahead to make sure they have wine available. With the bottleO next door you would think they could just walk in a grab what they needed but maybe it's owned separately so can't do it. Either way, this is a pub that deserves a second chance from me....

I love the new stereo ☺ Wonderful place to have beer and the food is nice after a hard day's work the Staff are always a pleasure to talk to friendly and cheerful they always put a smile on my face 😄. The DJ always cracks jokes and plays nice music. There is a Tab to place a bet or 2 Pool tables and a few competitions once and while, raffles nice outdoor area for smokers and a drive through to pick up some extra drinks for later on in night. Been going there for over 10 years, never had a dull moment at...

I took my mate Saturday at 1 pm. Pool babes were on, stunning ladies , friendly and funny. All staff and management were friendly and very nice. Atmosphere was perfect. Food service was excellent, servings were huge and very tasty. Beer was great. Thanks guys for making Noel’s birthday special, we all had a great time. We would recommend this place to everyone, we will definitely be back soon. Thanks...
