My husband and i have been regulars here for quite a while. Weve been attending or ordering take away here nearly once every month for the past few years. Sad to say yesterday is going to be the last day we will return.
The owner/manager is generally quite chatty and polite to us however today and on a few other instances we felt completely ignored. This has happened before however we thought we would give them an other chance as the food is usually pretty good. It has happened too often now to be called just a bad 'day'. The manager was dismissive and avoiding us while treating the other potentially newer/mature aged customers nicer and actually initiating a conversation with them.
Yes i think its important to support a business with good food. I do however feel its equally important to have a positive dinning experience. Especially when supporting a local restaurant and choosing to have dinner with your family at there restaurant to support them during covid ect.
The attending staff were nice but management is very selective with how and who they engage with. Once your an old customer, i feel like they dont bother trying to make you feel comfortable there or treating you on the same level of respect as other customers.
This restaurant lacks flexibility in chicken Tikka sizes, no entree size available just the standard. Which is all good if its relayed nicely. We felt the manager was quite abrupt and appeared offended when asked if we can order an entree sized tikka. In turn she could have said its not possible respectfuly and their would not have been any issue. Whilst yet again avoiding us while watching us like a hawk while we are ordering our meal.
Lacks consistency with pappadums sometimes they give us extra free of charge. However yesterday they charged us $2.50 for a serve even though we are regulars and not usually charged for them. In the past i have recommended there business to countless friends and family members.
Im extremely dissapointed and felt quite alientated there with my husband. This is not a positive dinning experience for us. Needless to say we will not be back and do not recommend dealings with...

Read moreI went to Arya to celebrate my daughters birthday. Selected because they have gluten free naan available (rare to find). We selected from the nut free menu, on which there were plenty of options.
Complementary poppadoms where provided, slightly overdone so with a burnt taste but the chutneys were tasty.
The kids got mango lassi which was thick enough to hold the straw, a good sign.
This was followed by a tandoori mix grill which was very good, particularly the lamb chops.
Main meals were a fish curry and lamb & veg with garlic naan, naan with butter, rice and the aforementioned gluten free.
The fish curry was too sweet for my tate hut the kids enjoyed, the lamb was OK with good veg and a thick tasty gravy.
The service was acceptable. We had to call hem over a number of times because the rice and gluten free naan came several minutes after everything else and we had to ask twice for glasses of water.
Overall the experience was good, marred St the end by being over charged for the mixed grill which was 26aud in the hut free menu but 31 in the main one. Despite pointing it out I was charged for the full amount. This spoiled the meal even though it was only 5 dollars as it felt like this was the value of customer service, which means I will not likely be returning for another go. A shame as we would...
