THE BEST OR THE WORST IN TOWN? I am completely confused. Just looking at the most recent 5 (one month's) reviews alone, you have a 5 star review alongside several 1 star reviews. And nothing in between. Personally I have used this place a few times in the last few months and found the staff to be very reasonable and efficient, which can be said less and less often in the hospo and retail worlds in Melbourne since Covid. The prices are also definitely inexpensive. However does it live up to the "best pies in town" type hype. No! The egg and bacon rolls may be as good as the reviews say but I made the mistake of trying to save an extra $ or s o by buying the reduced priced version in the afternoon. I ordered two pies — one chicken and one beef — and both were shoved into the same bag. When I got to my car, I noticed one of the pies was quite squished and leaking. I wouldn’t have minded so much if it was for me, but it was for someone else, so I went back in to speak with the Lady who served me.

Instead of acknowledging the issue, she rudely accused me of dropping the pies and insisted that her products are top quality and this kind of thing "never happens." She refused to replace it, and I was honestly shocked by the poor attitude and lack of customer service. Also the pies were cold.

I won’t be returning after that experience. The pie shop next door has better service and quality, and I’ll happily continue supporting them instead. I highly recommend checking them...

I got a chilli pie today, and the lady said $5.80 hid the eftpos screen. I asked for my receipt, which read $6.80. I then asked about the extra dollar, and she turned around to another lady and started speaking Chinese. All I made out was “man and "foolish.” She then began to laugh, then turned to me and said it was a surcharge, which is illegal to add so much. I didn’t bother taking it further the staff was extremely rude but very nice to the Asian man that walked in before me. As for the pie, it was cold, and the meat tasted a bit strange.
