Chilli India Epping — Restaurant in Melbourne

14/5/22 approximately 7pm, ordering for delivery at 8pm. Placed an order over Menulog, having not tried this place before. Clicked the button and waited for confirmation. And waited and waited and waited. Menulog prompt came up saying maybe they need a nudge, and Menulog would call them. Waited, and waited and waited. I had been looking for the cancel button on Menulog but there ain’t one. I googled the phone number and called. Explained that I was wondering if they were open, as I had a Menulog order that was unconfirmed for some time. He called out to another staff member checking if there was a Menulog order. His incredible customer service skills manifested immediately as he hung up on me with no explanation, then my Menulog order was cancelled. Avoid this place like the plague. If they don’t know you have placed an order, then hang up on you and just cancel when they realise their incompetence, would you eat their food? Dining out is an experience based on trust. Trust that the people preparing and serving your food have basic organisational skills and are competent at their profession. When incompetence reads its ugly head, in me it raises questions about what’s happening behind the curtains in the kitchen. We all make mistakes, but to simply hang up on a customer and cancel the order, speaks volumes to me and I will never try this...

On Valentine's Day, my partner and I visited this restaurant for a dinner date, where we indulged in the delightful Hyderabadi Chicken Dam Biryani. The flavors were exquisite, truly a treat for the palate. However, our experience was marred by the lack of attentive service. Upon arrival, we waited patiently for a greeting and a table assignment, only to find ourselves overlooked for several minutes. While we understood the restaurant was busy and operating with only two staff members, the oversight continued throughout our meal. Despite our request, basic amenities such as water were forgotten, and when provided a bottle of water, no glass was given. The best place to have a good Hyderabad Biryani. Such a nice experience. Order chicken Biryani and I give 10 out of 10 for taste. Rice was cooked really well. Biryani spices were not out of order, they look really taste while you are eating. Just one thing we need to remember ,it’s a taste of Hyderabad cuisine and we can’t expect some dishes as usual we eat ,name can be same but style of making food or taste can be different. As we are an international students from India especially from Hyderabad the only food we miss is Biryani. Chilli India was the saviour. The only place where I enjoyed having it.
