Chim Mai Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Melbourne

I found Chim Mai Thai a few weeks ago when I was looking for a spot to meet with a friend for dinner, it’s just down the road from me but I hadn’t noticed it before. We met up at the restaurant and had a lovely meal, it was quite busy on a Saturday night but service was quick and friendly. It was a great place to sit in, even when it was busier it was still easy to hear each other and very comfortable inside.

When the meals came out we were really impressed with the servings, they were generous with good cuts of meat and plenty of delicious vegetables. The sauces were all super tasty and we loved both meals (massaman curry with beef and a pad him ma pan with rice and roti bread) and we had plenty of leftovers to each take home lunch for the next day.

When it came time to pay we were pleasantly surprised with the prices which were very reasonable.

Since then this has become my preferred local Thai restaurant, we get our takeaway from here and have enjoyed all the dishes we have tried. The service has been prompt and friendly and we’ll definitely keep...

Found Chim Mai by looking at reviews as we don’t live near by but needed to meet others half way. It was to celebrate some birthdays so I wanted somewhere good. Very impressed by the food, it really hit the mark in all areas, rich and flavourful, presentation a+, great portion sizes and priced appropriately. We will absolutely return, a shame we don’t live closer as we would easily become regulars. Stand outs for me were the massaman curry, and the Pad Prik Khing Moo Krob. The owner, chef?? Came to talk to us to see how we were enjoying our food too which was nice and showed it was really important to her that we were happy. The only thing I’d suggest for feedback (not a complaint) is the back was a little cramped for a big group so we would have been better seated down the front and small tables down the back, I can understand why it would have been set up that way but definitely felt a bit squishy however that really that was such a minor issue and everything else...

Well we travelled from Footscray Sommerville and Frankston to try this as all the reviews were great 😊 The service was efficient the staff were attentive
