Club Kilsyth โ Bayswater North Friday night 19-03-16 This venue is well positioned at the whole intersection of Canterbury and Colchester Road in Bayswater North and is operated by the Kilsyth and Mountain District Basketball Association Inc with their other venue โClub Ringwoodโ The car park is well illuminated and open, with a flat walk in to the complex via the glass double doors that has some garden beds around it. As you walk in you will be greeted by the front reception where you must โsign-inโ as you have entered and Victorian Club. The dining room is directly behind the front reception with function room on the left and members bar on the right. As you enter the dining room the open kitchen is to your left and bar to your right. On this night we were seated next to the fire place in the middle of the dining room with most of the tables that we were able observe had a reserved sign on them and during the night we noticed more people arriving and being seated at other tables. The wooden chairs are scratched around our table and most of the other chairs close to us were of similar state of requiring maintenance. The room is well illuminated and has some framed art on them with some large TV screens displaying updates for the club and meal specials for the night. The dining room is a good open space only separated by the fire place and some glass bordering it. As we awaited the arrival of our other guest we ordered the Mediterranean Antipasti Platter, it arrived in a good amount of time and was which we find it to be very good value and selection. All the main courses for the table was well presented and enjoyed by our table. The main disappointment for the evening was the bar staff. On my first approach to the bar there was three staff making themselves busy but not able to great me or offer that they will attend to me as soon as they can. On my second approach to the I was again ignored by one bar person who just walked past and was served by another who was completing a task and then attended to me. Then our guest went to the bar and returned empty handed when his wife asked why he said that there was three staff at the sink but no one attending to customers.
Good open room, only separated by glass wall Saturday night just about all tables taken More people walking in with other...
ย ย ย Read moreMy parents are in their mid 80's and often visit Club Kilsyth because of their generous serving sizes, senior discounts and great service. I was there today with my brother and found it a lovely place to eat. Firstly, there were a large number of senior people at the front desk who waved us through. You have to scan your drivers licence at the front desk and this gives you a receipt. Not sure why, but go with the flow. You are then asked to wait to be seated. We were there at 12.15pm and the place was hopping with people. Be mindful that many seniors come here for lunch and there are alot of walking frames and slow walking people. Be mindful of them as they aren't as quick on their feet as younger folk and deserve our respect. I had an avocado and chicken salad and my brother nasi goreng. You can order at the counter, which means you can pay separately. There are bread rolls on offer - help yourself. Both wholemeal and white. Food was generous, fresh and delicious. Service was very fast. 10 minutes from order to table. Drinks are reasonably priced which you order at a separate place. Everyone is efficient here. Seated quickly Plates removed quickly. Offer of dessert. Then left alone - nice! Food was $19 for the salad - bit pricey but for a 'light start'. But it was very fresh and tasty with alot of food on the plate. I didn't need to eat dinner. There is plenty of parking. Staff are very friendly and amiable. You may need to book if you have a large table. Toilets are very clean and suitable for anyone with additional needs. If they could add free Wi-Fi, I'd be...
ย ย ย Read moreI had not been here since before the pandemic. I attended tonight for dinner and trivia. We thoroughly enjoyed the trivia, it was lots of fun, (I have been to Quizzame trivia at other venues and this was by far the best), the service was quick, the staff were all lovely and everyone I was with with enjoyed their meals.
My only complaint is that your menu is extremely lacking in vegetarian and vegan options. While I consider myself to be vegetarian, I try to choose plant based or vegan options where possible. I noted that you have vegan and vegan option in your key, however I saw nothing vegan on your menu and only one item that you state could potentially be made vegan, ( by removing chicken, shrimp and egg - basically all the main ingredients of that meal - and I would assume you don't charge any less), and you had very few vegetarian options as mains also. Whilst I did thoroughly enjoy the vegetarian meal I had, should my friends and I return for trivia again, I really only have one other main to choose from, which is really disappointing. In this day and age, when plant based options are more readily available everywhere, I really think you could step up a little in this department, (hopefully before my next...
