We have been members for 30 years and used to go to lunch every Sunday but had a few bad experiences and stopped. We were going to the Starkie show (which was great) on Sunday and decided to do lunch in the restaurant. Now to the restaurant!!! Worst experience ever. Greeting was poor, we arrived early and the girl said "we I will have to move things around" the restaurant never filled the entire time we were there. She plopped us on our table without a courteous word. We ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress brought over two glasses of wine. When we said we ordered a bottle she said "Oh yes that is on the bar". We ordered the food and waited 20 minutes for my meal to come out! The lovely elderly lady sitting next to us got a meal that was supposed to be satay chicken as the waitress even announced it as she put it down. It was definitely not satay as you could smell the curry, which my husband had ordered!!! The man on the other ladies table has not got his meal and nor has my husband. I then complained about wanting to eat with my husband and that was when they realised they had given my husband's meal to the lady next to us. Waitress came out and was honest with the mistake and took the curry away from the other lady and gave her the satay chicken meal (after 10 minutes). Her guest still has not received his meal. The chicken curry finally comes out to my husband. The poor guest on the table next to us waited an hour for his meal. The food is pub food. The waitresses are not friendly and it is very sad to see the place not full. Dandenong Club look at this restaurant it has gone down hill 80% on when we used to love our...
ย ย ย Read moreI had the most awful experience at this club. I went for a meal and forgot to take my licence. I didnโt drive and donโt carry a purse so why would I. Not knowing we would end up there for lunch. I had been 3 weeks before and they allowed me to sign in. The girl at reception, April was very rude, condescending and disrespectful when I said I didnโt have my licence and was able to sign in previously. I asked what she needed and it was a photo ID. I said a have a digital Medicare card and Facebook. She said I needed something like a passport. Now if I didnโt carry my licence I would certainly not be carrying a passport. When I asked for the manager she said โalright ladyโ, when he came he said he could let me go in this timeโฆ. ๐คทโโ๏ธ I was very anxious by this point, shaking and very shaken. Very disappointed the manger showed no care of how anxious this made me feel. It was her attitude from the get go, absolutely appalling. Ended up going somewhere else for lunch as I was quite upset by this humiliating experience. I was treated very poorly and cannot see conditions of entry on the website. Will check again and call them to find out . Iโm not a serial reviewer, first timeโฆ I feel strongly about this.
Update after response - whilst the legal side of the situation has now been explained, the venue also advised it was the discretion of the person at reception. And if this is the legal act, why was I allowed in previously ?? Did you break the law?? The girl at reception was...
ย ย ย Read moreive reviewed close to 500 gaming venues in the past 13 years, officially and non-officially, public and private and with each new experience the responsibility grows. To guide as best I can, potential visitors, so they can make passive informed judgements on the gameplay of the machines on offer, contrasted with a massive burden of the fine line between informing the public of what to expect against what can be construed as promoting a venue or defamation against. After my very recent visit to the Dandenong club, I am left with no choice but to refrain from putting pen to paper in the form of a review. A review considers many factors pitted against many more. I could not do that here. In 500 reviews, the good almost always outweighs the bad, each one having its many strengths as well as weaknesses they are working hard to improve and that is almost a certainty across the board. The Dandenong Club's machines are the worst I have come across, EVER. On my list of 500 gaming venues, this is not just number 500 meaning you have little chance if winning, it is 500 with as close to being able to say with certainty that you will lose if you choose to enter here and simply make a donation. save your time and just leave your money at the front counter and...
