I booked the table after a conversation with their winemaker at a vegetarian restaurant a few weeks prior. He claimed that the restaurant had a vegan-friendly menu. (What is the point of producing and LABELLING it as vegan-friendly wine if the only purpose is to serve it with meat?) I booked the table ~3 days before coming, and I specified that both guests were vegan on the booking system. There is not even one vegan item on their menu. We had two different waiters serve us - both had zero interest in even suggesting substitutions. We asked about the vegan options - and the person pointed out a few vegetarian options. When we pointed out the error, they agreed that there was nothing on the menu. They made zero effort to accommodate us.

The pizza was good, and I appreciate that I was not charged for the added olives (big woop!!). This only happened because we pointed out that it is crazy that they charge extra for adding olives if two items (the 2x cheese is removed).

The website makes these statements about "on-site kitchen garden provides vegetables and herbs", which seems like marketing fluff... if that were the case, they could have produced some zucchini dish? Also, there is such a small vegetable garden near the restaurant it will not feed a family for a week, let alone a commercial restaurant.

I understand that not all restaurants cater to specific dietary requirements. If that is the case, don't make the "vegan" option available during the booking process; just let people know, and then they can make alternate arrangements. Just manage...
