Tonight I ordered excitedly calamari, hot chips, greek salad on ubereats and other things for a hot day. Unfortunately I was let down on numerous things. Firstly my calamari was sitting on top of my greek salad which left it warm and soggy (not what you want on a hot night). I don't understand why hot and cold food wouldn't be packaged separately. I also don't like lettuce with my greek salad but understand that places do, do this. My husbands salt and pepper calamari was way too over salted as were the chips (picture below). When the sea of salt is visible on the top it's not a good sign and usually I love salt but this was waaaay too much. The potato cakes were too oily also. My grilled calamari was excellent though so highly recommend.

Having noticed this new establishment, I decided to give it a shot for Friday lunch. Opting for the Barramundi grilled fish pack without the chip sauce, I was in for a bit of a disappointment. Their menu promised one fish of the day with chips and a choice of salad, all for $16.50. Regrettably, the fried fish was encased in undercooked batter, tarnishing the dish. Adding salt to the wound was an unexpected $3.50 charge for the salad. Suffice it to say, this initial experience left much to be desired, and I won't be revisiting.

Visiting Melbourne for the long weekend we went looking for something to eat. Found this place on google, the reviews were great so we gave it a try. As soon as we walked in, place was busy, and phone was ringing hot. The staff were very friendly. We got our meals and headed back to the apartment. Opening the packs they looked really good and smelt fantastic, but eating it was sensational. Fresh, delicious and seriously amazing food.

As a proud Greek, let me just say — Docks Fish and Chips in Brunswick feels like home. The moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in the most beautiful aroma of freshly fried seafood — like walking through the streets of a coastal village back in Greece. It’s not just food here — it’s a warm hug in every bite. The flavours are so authentic, so beautifully made, you’d swear you were sitting by the sea in Kalamata or Thessaloniki.

This isn’t your average fish and chip shop — it’s a true family-owned treasure. You can feel the heart and soul in everything they do. The grilled fish is done to absolute perfection, the chips are golden and crunchy, and the salads are fresh and full of life. The flake melts in your mouth, and the calamari tastes just like the kind Yiayia would serve on a summer Sunday. Every dish is packed with flavour and made with love.

The staff are some of the nicest people you’ll meet — warm, friendly, and always happy to chat. You can tell it’s a family running this place, and that just makes it even better. There’s something beautiful about knowing that the food you’re eating was made with care, by people who genuinely love what they do. The shop itself is always spotless, with a relaxed, cosy vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy every minute.

If you haven’t tried Docks yet, what are you waiting for? It’s a slice of Greece right here in Brunswick — full of flavour, full of heart, and absolutely unforgettable. Five stars isn’t enough for this place. It’s...

The first thing you notice when you walk in is how immaculate the restaurant is, there’s not one item out of place - even the salads are neatly presented!

The batter used ensures the flake is crisp and not soggy, the chips are well cooked and crunchy and not that heavily oily taste you sometimes get.

I ordered the salmon, and apart from the generous serving size, it was cooked to perfection 👌🏾👌🏾. Again, something you’d probably not expect given most places would cook it to within an inch of its tolerance.

First time ordering from here, but we will definitely be back when we visit Melbourne. Even if you’re outside a 5km radius, this place is absolutely worth the...
