Once inside you feel like you are in a warm, heart-felt country bakery. The service is excellent and the food is robust and very flavourful – Must Try! So, let's break it down… Atmosphere: **** Definitely a take away place. From the outside it appears a little weathered but inside you will find a very well-maintained, clean and homely bakery. The interior is extremely warm and comforting with that amazing bakery aroma of freshly baked bread. The serving area has a lot of room for multiple customers and the space is used well for the display of the numerous and very appetising bakery goods. Well Done. Customer Service: ***** Like the store, the customer service was kindly, warm and very welcoming. Almost felt like you were stepping into an old country-type bakery, where the personal service was about meeting and greeting your locals as a friend. Me, not being a local, felt even more ingratiated by the smile and personal service that this representative provided. Absolutely Outstanding. Food (Why we are here): ***** Midday Wednesday Order: Crispy Pork Banh Mi ($9) and Plain Steak Pie ($4.60) + 1% surcharge for Credit Cards Plain Steak Pie: - while the pastry had softened internally from the oven, the outside pastry was still nice & flaky. Additionally, the pie was choc-full of a delicious savory mince & gravy that had an outstanding robust and rich flavour. Crispy Pork Banh Mi: The bread was so deliciously fresh, I could have eaten the roll on its own. The ingredients were fresh and tasty & the pork was so excellently well cooked, soft with that little crackling crunch. The flavours worked well with each other without over powering each other and it was spicy. The only comment is that there wasn’t freshly sliced chili; but it was still an outstanding flavour and an excellent lunch size portion for the cost. Amazing! Overall: ***** The excellent combination of the interior, customer service and the excellent food really made for a very friendly, country and relaxed feel – while it may seem strange and rare in the suburbs – it really followed through into the food as well. I believe these staff know the quality of their food and don’t need a reviewer to advertise it for them. 😊 I will certainly be bring friends back here for the pleasure. Thank you, New Mitcham Bakery!

Fantastic Local Bakery – Fresh & Affordable! Mitcham Bakery is a hidden gem! They offer fresh, high-quality Banh Mi, rice paper rolls, hot pies, sausage rolls, and delicious fresh bread at very affordable prices. The ingredients are always fresh, the flavors are spot on, and the service is friendly and efficient. A great go-to spot for a quick bite or to stock up on bakery essentials without breaking the bank. Highly recommend!

I tried Banh Mi and they were absolutely delicious—flaky, buttery, and full of flavor. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of care into their baking. The shop itself has a cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to grab a coffee and enjoy a pastry.

UPDATE: I THINK ITS CHANGED OWNERSHIP????USED TO BE GREAT, NOW ITS VERY AVERAGE AND FRUSTRATING. SAD.

Best kept local secret, so much so I've hesitated sharing because there's nothing worse than calling in and they've sold out of this or that. Best Bahn Mi (as others have already said) but also the other 'fresh made' offerings are delicious. Hot, fresh and made with (dear I say it) LOVE. All people I've been served by are lovely and I've never had trouble getting a park. Highly recommend their food and wish them all...
