Provincia Food Store — Restaurant in Melbourne

Worst customer experience i have ever had at this store. Popped into this store to grab some bread. Store only had one other customer. Went to check out and no one was there. There was 3 staff in the vicinity. Two of the young women were busy chatting while making coffee (fair enough). The other (Bree) was chatting with what appeared to be a friend at coffee pick up spot while I stood there for over 5 mins, she had seen but ignored me. Eventually after her friend had to leave, Bree came to me. Expecting a 'sorry for the delay' or at least a 'good morning' I got a stone cold nothing, the monent I paid she walked off (without even offer of a receipt) and just a sarcastic 'no worries'. Given the warm friendliness this young women had given her friend, I can't put this down to a bad day but rather sense it was her entitlement. I expect this wasn't the first or the last time she will strike. My friend who was a local didn't seem surprised and suggested the IGA next time. (The reciept says the staff member who served...

Been going to provincia for years now to buy my lunch for work. Whilst the rolls are expensive, they are worth the price as they’re really good. The deli section supplies amazing produce and always fresh. I’ve never had better from anywhere. However the reason I’m giving this 2 stars is simply because I am sick of going into a deli/cafe nearly 2 hours BEFORE CLOSE, and they’ve cleaned the slicing machines. It’s beyond ridiculous. Doesn’t take this long to clean a machine. I understand these things have to be cleaned thoroughly for health reasons, but 2 hours is ridiculous. Another thing I’ve noticed is “we are short staffed signs so please be patient with us” signs everywhere. I know people who have worked here and perhaps if the management improved, you wouldn’t be craving new staff all the time. A little bit of respect toward your employees...

Our family of 6 visited this store last Sunday morning for takeaway coffee. My husband and I ordered our two coffees, one latte and one decaf and were charged $8.50. I paid and then rechecked the price on the large price list board on the wall above the servery. The price list stated decaf was $4.00 and latte $4.00. I approached the staff member who served me and questioned why I was charged $8.50 as the price on the board would mean it costs $8.00 She rudely stated and I quote "I'll give you the 50 cents back. JUST SO YOU KNOW, the price list board is wrong" I was shocked by her attitude and replied "well that's what you have advertised" Very poor customer service and there is no excuse for the staff member rudeness. There were other staff and customers present that heard the whole conversation. Shame on you...
