We have been to Point Leo for over 25 years. We started with Marty’s Kiosk and it was great. The new people over time have unfortunately ruined what was an amazing business.
This place could be an absolute gold mine due to the monopoly of the market unfortunately the owners and employees (although mostly kids in their first jobs most likely) have got poor leadership starting at the top. We have kids manning the BBQ serving raw burgers that can kill someone. The whole feedback the owner gave was don’t flip the burgers more than once- fair feedback but train them before it happens. Likewise, the “trained” barista needed to ask how to make a mocha!
I have seen games of solitaire with less cards than the disorganised ticketing system with my 4 orders being placed on four different dockets leading to exorbitant wait times due to the height of poor service.
We were open minded in 2023, in fact we moved to the new setting with a new sense of optimism thinking new location.. but unfortunately same shocking service.
With Tess claiming the fact they put the staff first is the first major rule of business they failed the customer should always be number one they pay the bills.
We went to the order and while waiting for the food, the staff couldn’t read the owners handwriting leading to longer, unnecessary wait times. They wanted to serve a Brent large chips, they called them twice and was waiting for 15 minutes on the bench. People asking is that my order? With the staff there saying I don’t know. The chips for Brent after being on the counter for 15 minutes (and my offer to take them to quicken the wait) they changed the name to John being there for 15 minutes for $10 serving him cold chips!
The owner points the fingers at 200 nippers and the family’s associated with that but tells me they need to offer more jobs for summer casuals to deal with increased work load in the peak periods.
My advice either order one thing only or go to the general store at the top. The extra distance is worth it for cheaper and...
Read moreThe Pt. Leo Beach Kiosk is an absolute gem. The kiosk serves amazing coffee, with well trained baristas (who learn from the best). They have a team of superstars who work so hard when the kiosk is pumping… and boy, does it get pumping. I’ve never known many venues to handle such large crowds in the sweltering heat, but this gang do it year in and year out. Tina and her crew are friendly, down to earth and they know how to make a tasty Buddha bowl, smoothie and burger. The kiosk serves not only tasty beachside snacks like chips and potato cakes, but offers amazing healthy alternatives as well - which are usually never an option from a local beach kiosk. Vegetarians and vegans are celebrated too, with a menu that covers all bases. The local crew are always willing to have a chat, so don’t be afraid to get to know them. I love this beach kiosk, it will forever be my favourite part of summer at Pt. Leo! Do yourself a favour and...
Read moreSame disgruntled customer from last year here. With the new building and glowing feedback from Tess, I decided to give the kiosk another chance.
Food quality was good but service was once again poor. Ordered a hot chocolate, egg and bacon roll, hot chips and hot jam donut. There's no designated waiting area or even a place for the staff to leave finished food, the old building was actually better in this regard. My hot chocolate came out first, it was finished before my egg and bacon roll was ready. That was finished before my donut was ready and finally the chips came out. Surely I'm not alone in wishing all my food would come out at the one time, please invest in a heat lamp.
I feel sorry for Tess who thinks this is a good business model. With some changes this place could be great but right now it's success hinges on the lack of...
