Qithara — Restaurant in Melbourne

Made sure I didn't have any breakfast. I wanted to really enjoy my meal. We've been to Qithara a few times in the past (never dissappinted) so we chose the place for our church Christmas party we paid $65 a head so expecting a feast to remember. It was a 3 course meal. The starters were great. Salads, dips. Only downside was hair on the bread which the server swapped for me once I pointed it out. Now the only reason I do reviews like this is so the business can improve so customers can enjoy their experience when they go. Part of the deal was beer and wine can't go wrong with a little bit of alcohol. The set of second plates of snacks came through. Two plates of two spring rolls, two calamari rings, 3 chicken strip's and two triangle things with 10 pieces of chips is not enough for 7 adults. Biggest disappointment as I know for a fact middles east has the best side dishes on the planet so I asked myself why am I being served coles frozen foods. I didn't eat any and waited for my main. We had 3 different meats (chicken, kebab, lamb) all dry rice was very curry and dry no moisture salad was standard. All in all we had our live music and we danced our hearts away. Customer service was extremely unprofessional, spoke to us with such disrespect. We trusted them for privacy as some of the ladies wanted to remove their headscarfs throughout the night, they have promised us they won’t be able to see anything on the cameras, they’re only there for security purposes. Luckily in the morning I had dropped off my cake as i was approaching the kitchen i had seen a massive tv screen with all cameras pointing in different angles of the venue. And not only they could see us throughout the night, but customers could also see as it was visible. Which they had promised us they won’t be able to see the ladies.

Not only they where extremely unprofessional but untrustworthy and very rude. As i confronted them with the cameras they both said who cares its “not haram”. As a muslim this is extremely disgusting coming from a Muslim man saying them being able to see the ladies without their headscarf is not haram and them lying to us about to being able to see the cameras.

I would advise anyone that wants to book with them to be very carful or to book...

We had a communion party there.I was really impressed with the food. The appetizers were very nice especially eggplant dip..very fresh and smokey..same with capsicum dip..that was my favourite actually 😋. The main meal we had lamb shank that literally was collapsing from bone ..super tender. The chicken was also nice. Customer service was also top. I highly recommend for gatherings or...
