Great staff, really helpfull and friendly even though they were under extreme pressure being Easter Sunday and fully booked.
However I ordered the steak rare to medium with garlic butter, which came with chips and salad.
I have no doubt the kitchen staff were also under pressure, under staffed or inexperienced.
The only part of the meal that was to temperature was the salad.
The steak which arrived last to our table of 14 was well done, stone cold and the garlic butter clearly frozen, sat proudly on the steak, refusing to melt or soften throughout the dining process.
The accompanying chips although a chunky pub style were also stone cold.
The chips had either been recycled from other diners leftovers or tortured repeatedly in the fryer until succumbing to giving up their potatoey centers to become dark brown husks of their former selves exploding into shards of shrapnel all over the table.
In fairness and under the circumstances everyone at the RSL was under pressure.
I raised no issue with the quality of the meal aware of this at the time or to prompt an avalanche of complaints from my fellow diners who also had cold meals whilst waiting for my meal to arrive so we could all eat together.

Read moreWe played musical chairs the first half hour as people sat on table's that weren't allocated to them and moved table numbers elsewhere. Instead of getting those people to move and wait until a table is available they had us moving around from table to table and all over again.
The no mask no service was a joke when the guy at entry of venue allowing people through didn't know how to wear his properly . What if the person ordering was exempt from wearing one that sign should be changed. There is also a sign at the front window that says masks must be worn unless eating or drinking almost all the people there were there to eat and drink why hand masks out and have the no mask no service sign up. Also social distancing didn't seem to be an issue there was no social distancing when people went up to order.
Food was missing from order Food came to the table late The drinks we ordered were wrong too.
The outcome, an apology and offer of free drink. When a meal is wrong and the other comes to the table much later it should be that meals are refunded.

We are an aged care home and were told we have to pay upfront and no refunds are given. Unfortunately elderly can fall ill unexpectedly and also some dont possessn alot of money but they won't be refunded!! Really!! So I went down to pay and was told that I don't need to pay in advance, just to pay on the day which is opposite tonwhat i was told. Then I was called on the weekend when I was away and told I have to come in and pay!! Seriously!! I went in early Monday morning 10am before it started to pay to , then have the female RSL Vice President loudly humiliate me in main reception because I was paying cash and some on card on the day.
